DUBAI- Emirates SkyCargo (EK) has announced a major expansion of its freighter network across East and Southeast Asia. The air cargo carrier is increasing flight frequencies and adding destinations to connect the region’s manufacturing hubs with key markets in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
The carrier moved over 439,000 tonnes of cargo from 12 markets in the region during FY25/26, an increase of around 5% from the previous year.
The growth covers expanded operations at points such as Tokyo Narita (NRT), Hong Kong (HKG), Zhengzhou (CGO), Singapore (SIN), Taipei (TPE), and Hanoi (HAN), all linking back to the carrier’s hub at Dubai (DXB).

Emirates SkyCargo Expands Freighter Network
East and Southeast Asia remain central to global manufacturing, producing high-tech goods, perishables, and large volumes of e-commerce shipments. Emirates SkyCargo is responding to rising export demand by deploying more freighter capacity and widening its reach across the region.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates SkyCargo, said the region forms a key manufacturing zone for the global economy.
He noted that additional freighter flights and an expanded footprint give exporters rapid and secure connectivity to end customers worldwide.
He added that customers gain flexibility through freighter flights to 12 cities and bellyhold capacity from 25 passenger destinations feeding into Dubai. Every week, customers across the region access over 12,000 tonnes of cargo capacity on the Emirates global network.

Scaling Up Freighter Operations
Emirates SkyCargo is doubling freighter capacity to Tokyo Narita, moving from one to two weekly flights. The second service supports Japan’s manufacturing sectors, including automotive, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.
The carrier now operates 37 weekly freighter flights to Hong Kong, reinforcing one of its busiest export corridors. It has also entered Central China with three weekly flights from Zhengzhou, linking the industrial hub of Henan province to Dubai and beyond.
Singapore freighter operations have restarted with a once-weekly flight connecting to Dubai via Mumbai (BOM), creating a key trade lane across Asia. Taiwan capacity has doubled to twice-weekly freighters to Taipei, driven by demand for high-tech electronic cargo.
The carrier continues its once-weekly freighter service to Bangkok (BKK), supporting exports of technology products, perishables, fashion and consumer goods. It also maintains four weekly freighter flights to Hanoi, serving Vietnamese exporters shipping perishables to Dubai, the Middle East and global markets.
Alongside its freighters, Emirates SkyCargo uses the bellyhold space of its wide-body passenger fleet to offer high-frequency cargo solutions. The carrier currently provides capacity on over 320 passenger flights every week across the region.
