GUANGZHOU— Nearly 40 international travel influencers visited China’s domestically developed C919 passenger aircraft during a special aviation event in Guangzhou. The program aimed to showcase the country’s rapidly evolving aviation industry and highlight the cultural and economic significance of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The visit was organized through a joint initiative between the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism and China Southern Airlines (CZ). Influencers from 13 countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore, explored the aircraft while learning about China’s progress in commercial aviation manufacturing.

COMAC C919 Aircraft Showcase
The influencers began their visit at Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company (GAMECO), where they viewed the C919 in a special “Beautiful Greater Bay Area” themed livery.
The design used blue, pink, and yellow colors and incorporated regional landmarks to represent the culture and innovation of southern China.
Design elements on the aircraft include the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and symbolic ocean imagery reflecting Lingnan heritage. The livery highlights the region’s openness, diversity, and strong connection to maritime trade and global exchange.
The event allowed international content creators to closely examine the aircraft and share their experiences with audiences worldwide. Many participants documented the visit through social media posts, videos, and livestreams.

Influencers Share Experience
British travel influencer William Adlington, who operates the popular platform “Mooneye,” attended the tour and described the visit as a memorable experience.
According to CGTN, He stated that China continues to develop rapidly and that seeing a domestically built large passenger jet offered valuable insight into the nation’s aviation capabilities.
Adlington noted that he plans to share the experience with more than one million followers across his social channels. He also encouraged international travelers to visit China and learn more about its aviation and technology sectors.
Influencers from the Republic of Korea also highlighted the aircraft during video recordings for their audiences. Several commented on the C919’s distinctive appearance and modern design, emphasizing its role as a new competitor in the global narrow-body aircraft market.

C919 Global Expansion
The C919 is China’s first domestically developed narrow-body jetliner designed to compete with other single-aisle aircraft in the global market.
The aircraft was developed by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) using internationally recognized airworthiness standards and independent intellectual property.
The aircraft completed its maiden flight in May 2017 and received its type certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in September 2022. Certification marked a key milestone for China’s commercial aircraft manufacturing ambitions.
Since entering service, several major Chinese airlines have introduced the aircraft into their fleets. These include China Eastern Airlines (MU), Air China (CA), and China Southern Airlines.
By December 2025, COMAC had delivered 32 C919 aircraft to airlines operating domestic routes across China.
The manufacturer has also secured more than 1,200 orders globally, reflecting growing interest in the jet as China expands its aviation manufacturing capabilities.
