MONTREAL- Air Transat (TS), recently named the 2025 World’s Best Leisure Airline by Skytrax, has announced an ambitious expansion for its Summer 2026 program, introducing three new international routes and extending several popular seasonal flights to year-round service.
This expansion enhances connectivity between Canada and major destinations in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, including new routes from Québec City (YQB), Ottawa (YOW), and Montréal (YUL), solidifying Air Transat’s role as a key player in international leisure travel.

Air Transat New Routes
Air Transat’s latest network expansion reflects its strategic focus on developing a stronger global footprint while offering passengers more direct flight options.
The carrier’s Summer 2026 program highlights include exclusive transatlantic routes, domestic connections to strengthen hub accessibility, and expanded southern routes that now operate year-round.
New Routes from Québec
Starting May 21, 2026, Air Transat will inaugurate a weekly nonstop service between Québec City (YQB) and Marseille (MRS) every Thursday, offering travelers a direct gateway to southern France.
The route complements the well-established Québec City–Paris (CDG) service, catering to growing travel demand between Eastern Canada and France.
Additionally, the Québec City–Fort-de-France (FDF) route, originally scheduled for a December 14, 2025, launch, will continue through summer 2026 with a weekly Monday flight, providing consistent, year-round access to the island of Martinique.
New Routes from Ottawa
In a first for the airline, Air Transat (TS) will operate non-stop transatlantic service from Ottawa (YOW) to London Gatwick (LGW) beginning May 15, 2026, running three times per week on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays.
To enhance regional connectivity, a new Ottawa–Montréal (YUL) domestic route will run between May 5 and October 23, 2026, improving access for travelers from Canada’s capital to the airline’s broader international network.
This move aligns with Air Transat’s growing partnership with Porter Airlines (PD), which is establishing Ottawa (YOW) as a key hub for eastern Canadian travel.
Southern Routes from Montréal and Toronto
Beginning summer 2026, several popular leisure destinations will transition from seasonal to year-round service. These include:
| Route | Frequency | Operating Days |
|---|---|---|
| Montréal (YUL) – Cartagena (CTG) – Medellín (MDE) | 1 flight/week | Thursdays |
| Montréal (YUL) – Pointe-à-Pitre (PTP) | 2 flights/week | Tuesdays, Saturdays |
| Montréal (YUL) – San José (SJO) | 2 flights/week | Mondays, Fridays |
| Toronto (YYZ) – Cartagena (CTG) – Medellín (MDE) | 1 flight/week | Wednesdays |
The Montréal–Cartagena (YUL–CTG) route will now extend to Medellín (MDE), mirroring the upcoming Toronto–Cartagena–Medellín (YYZ–CTG–MDE) service launching November 2, 2025.
These year-round connections provide access to Colombia’s Caribbean coast and the dynamic culture of Medellín.

Air Transat’s Growth Strategy
Air Transat’s expanded network underscores its commitment to sustainable growth and customer choice.
By reinforcing key hubs and diversifying route offerings, the airline continues to enhance its competitive edge in leisure travel.
