TAOYUAN- EVA Air (BR) inaugurated its new nonstop route between Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Taipei Taoyuan (TPE), bringing its latest premium economy product to the US for the first time.
This expansion strengthens EVA’s US network and positions DFW as a growing transpacific gateway.

EVA Air Premium Economy to Dallas
EVA Air’s launch of nonstop service to Dallas marks the US debut of its fourth-generation premium economy cabin. This move highlights EVA’s intent to elevate comfort for long-haul travelers in the middle class of service.
Unlike older recliner upgrades, the new cabin offers a 42-inch pitch, cradle-style recline, 15.6-inch HD screens, privacy panels, and modern power and storage amenities.
While EVA had historically offered premium economy (first introduced in 1992), this refresh represents a leap in design and comfort, especially with deployment on the Boeing 787-9 in a 2-3-2 layout, The Points Guy reported.

Route Structure and Network
- The new DFW–TPE route began on October 3, 2025, with three weekly round-trips (Flight BR50/BR49).
- From November 18, frequency increases to five per week; from December 15 onward, service becomes daily.
- EVA will operate the route using the Boeing 787-9 in a three-class configuration (Royal Laurel / Premium Economy / Economy).
- DFW becomes EVA’s second Texas destination (after Houston), and expands EVA’s North American network to nine passenger gateways.
- For DFW, the new nonstop to Asia supports its ambitions as a Pacific gateway, complementing existing services such as Cathay Pacific (to HKG) and Fiji Airways (to NAN).

Cabin Design & Passenger Experience
Seat Configuration and Mechanism
The new premium economy cabin holds 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout with 42-inch pitch and a cradle recline motion (seat cushion slides forward/upward to preserve space behind). Privacy wings on the headrests and storage in armrests enhance personal space.
In-Flight Amenities
Each seat features a 15.6-inch HD monitor, AC + USB power, and integrated storage for personal electronics. EVA includes amenity kits, pillows, comforters, and eco-friendly service items such as bamboo fiber napkins.
Comparison with Previous Configurations
On previous 777 configurations, EVA’s premium economy had a narrower pitch (≈ 38 inches) and an older 2-4-2 layout. The upgraded 787 version offers significant improvement in space, privacy, and modern amenities.

Strategic & Market Impact
This premium economy debut in the US aims to capture demand from flyers who want more than economy but not full business class. It enhances EVA’s yield potential by better segmenting product classes.
For DFW, the new link reinforces its growing Asian connectivity and helps diversify its long-haul network.
The move also signals that airlines view premium economy as a critical growth segment in transpacific markets.
Booking and Loyalty Options
EVA Air offers several ways for travelers to book flights or redeem miles for this route. Members can transfer credit card points, including Citi ThankYou and Capital One Miles, into EVA’s Infinity MileageLands program.
Passengers can also redeem award tickets through Star Alliance partners such as United Airlines, Air Canada, and Singapore Airlines.
