5:10 PM- Libya’s Berniq Airways (NB) commits to modernizing its fleet by ordering six A320neo Family aircraft from Airbus. This purchase builds on the airline’s existing fleet of six A320s, signaling a strategic move to enhance its regional and international operations.
5:06 PM- Today, Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, announced that Avolon has chosen GTF engines to power 80 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. This order brings Avolon’s fleet to 158 GTF-powered aircraft, with options for engines to power 80 more.
4:24 PM- ATR and Ethiopian Airlines have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop aircraft maintenance and pilot training programs in Africa and the Middle East.
4:21 PM- Flydubai’s CEO Ghaith Al-Ghaith reveals to Arab News that the airline is in preliminary discussions for its largest-ever single-aisle jet order.
2:55 PM- Boeing has disclosed that Qatar Airways (QR) is an undisclosed company that placed an order for 20 777-9 aircraft. With this Qatar Airways now has a backlog of 100 777X aircraft. 2:50 PM- Embraer has not annouced any new orders at FIA2024. But during its event it revealed some impirtant updates to E1 and E2 aircraft, including bigger luggage bins, mood lights in cabin and new seat options.
2:00 PM- GE Aerospace announced that American Airlines (AA) has confirmed an order for 180 CF34-8E engines, along with spares, to power its fleet of 90 new Embraer 175 regional jets.

1:10 PM- Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Airbus Helicopters have signed a contract to set up the H125 Final Assembly Line (FAL) in India.
1:00 PM- Macquarie Air Finance has agreed to purchase 20 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow.
12:50 PM- Qatar Airways (QR) CEO Badar Al Meer reaffirmed their commitment to keeping the Airbus A380 in the fleet for a longer period. Speaking at the Farnborough Airshow, Al Meer highlighted that the A380 remains the best option for routes with airport restrictions.
12:30 PM- Leonardo is enhancing its M-346 advanced trainer and light-attack aircraft with new cockpit avionics to prepare pilots for the next generation of combat aircraft.
12:10 PM- Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), a global leader in aircraft leasing, announced an order for ten LEAP-1A engines to power five Airbus A321neo aircraft, with options for two additional LEAP-powered A321neo aircraft.

Well, Farnborough Airshow witnessed deals worth more than $50 billion on the first day.
11:32 AM- Japan Airlines (JL) has placed a significant Order with Airbus for 20 A350-900 and 11 A321neo aircraft.
11:24 AM- China is independently developing the C929 long-range wide-body airliner, initially a joint project with Russia. A mock-up displayed at the Farnborough Airshow omits any mention of Russia in its project description, BBC reported.
11:16 AM- Airbus is targeting additional orders from the UK, Turkey, and new customers in the Middle East to extend the production line of its A400M military airlifter, Aviation Week reported.
11 AM- Virgin Atlantic (VS) has ordered seven more A330neo aircraft, bringing its total commitment to 19 as part of its fleet transformation for better economics. The announcement was made at the Farnborough Airshow on Virgin Atlantic’s A330neo, ‘Ruby Rebel,’ named after founder Sir Richard Branson to celebrate the airline’s 40th anniversary.
10:46 AM- British Airways (BA) has launched a new safety video with a British period drama theme, featuring over 40 of its colleagues. Filmed in grand country houses across the UK, the five-minute video draws inspiration from Britain’s rich history, literature, TV, and film. Directed by Sharon Maguire, known for “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” this “British Original” safety video will be shown on long-haul flights starting August 1.
10:31 AM- The De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G moves closer to its debut. First shown at the 2023 Paris Air Show, the aircraft stays on track for certification this year. De Havilland Canada plans to deliver the first plane in early 2025. The Classic 300-G builds on the Twin Otter’s proven design.
10:26 AM- Air India (AI) unveils its Airbus A350 at the UK’s Farnborough Airshow. The airline invites guests to explore this new aircraft, marking a fresh chapter in air travel. The A350 combines luxury with cutting-edge technology. Tata Companies spearheads this move, shaping a promising future for the aviation industry.
9:53 AM- Bombardier expands its European service network with a new line maintenance station in Farnborough, UK. This addition enhances the company’s customer service capabilities in the region. The Farnborough station will provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) services to Bombardier aircraft operators.
9:45 AM- Korean Air is upgrading its aircraft maintenance capabilities by implementing Boeing’s Airplane Health Management (AHM) system across more of its fleet. The airline extends AHM coverage to its 777, 747-8, and 737MAX aircraft, building on its existing use of the system in its 787 fleet.

9:11 AM- Airbus opens the show with an SAF announcement.
Airbus spearheads a groundbreaking initiative to boost Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production. The aircraft manufacturer joins forces with six other industry leaders to create the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Financing Alliance (SAFFA) investment fund.
The partnership includes Air France-KLM Group, Associated Energy Group, BNP Paribas, Burnham Sterling, Mitsubishi HC Capital, and Qantas Airways. These companies collectively commit approximately $200 million to the fund, with Airbus acting as the anchor investor.

DAY 2, JULY 23, Farnborough Air Show 2024 Updates
Phew, A very Busy day 1 at FIA2024, Boeing dominated the day with Korean Air, Luxair, and Japan Airlines orders, while Airbus made a comeback with Cebu Pacific and Drukair deals. Apart from this major update came from Qatar Airways, which unveiled the Qsuite Business Class.
While Embraer received the order. On the other hand, Air India showcased the A350 for the first time, Announced its deployment on US routes and the A321XLR made a flying display after getting its TC from EASA. Boeing and Antonov Company have taken a significant step towards potential defense cooperation. The two aviation giants signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore collaborative opportunities in defense-related projects.
4:27 PM- Bell Textron Inc. has announced a significant milestone in the South Korean aviation market. EnB AIR Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement to purchase a Bell 505 helicopter, marking the first commercial sale of this model in South Korea.
4:24 PM- Emirates (EK) Chairman Tim Clark shared an update on Boeing 777X. He said that 777-9 will undergo a test at the extreme conditions in Dubai (DXB).
4:14 PM- Turkish Airlines (TK) unveils its new Business Class at FIA2024 Today. Watch the video:
3:47 PM- Netherlands and Austria sign for 9 C-390 military transport planes (5 Netherlands, 4 Austria) from Brazilian Embraer. This purchase is part of the “Replacement of Tactical Airlift Capacity” project. The Dutch Ministry of Defense has finalized a deal to acquire nine Embraer C-390 Millennium aircraft.
3:09 PM- Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines (KB) has signed a major agreement with Airbus to grow its international operations. The national airline of Bhutan inked a Memorandum of Understanding for five new aircraft. The deal includes three A320neo and two A321XLR planes.
2:30 PM- Cebu Pacific (5J) confirms a massive deal with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney. The Filipino airline agreed to buy up to 152 A321neo planes. This purchase marks the biggest aircraft order in Philippine history.
The deal could cost $24 billion, based on list prices. Cebu Pacific signed a memorandum of understanding for 102 firm orders and 50 purchase rights. The airline chose Pratt & Whitney GTF engines to power these new planes.
2:10 PM- Boeing and Lufthansa Technik form a new partnership for 787 Dreamliner cabin modifications. Lufthansa Technik becomes the first Boeing-licensed Service Center (BLSC) for this aircraft type. This agreement expands options for airlines seeking 787 interior upgrades.
The BLSC designation allows Lufthansa Technik to perform interior modifications on 787s as an external maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider.

1:11 PM- Japan Airlines (JL) orders 10 Boeing 787-9 and 10 are on Options. Boeing secures a significant deal with Japan Airlines (JAL) for up to 20 additional 787 Dreamliners. The agreement includes 10 firm orders for 787-9s and options for 10 more. This expansion builds on JAL’s existing fleet of over 50 787s.
12:14 PM- Air India (AI) announces major upgrades to its New York routes using its new flagship A350 aircraft. The airline plans to introduce the A350 on Delhi-New York JFK flights starting November 1, 2024. This marks the ultra-long-haul debut of Air India’s A350 fleet.
The carrier will extend A350 service to Delhi-Newark flights from January 2, 2025. This expansion enhances Air India’s presence in the competitive U.S.-India market. Will share more details in the article. Stay Tuned.

12:11 PM- Boeing secures a new order from Luxair (LG) for its 737 MAX family. The European regional carrier commits to two 737-10 airplanes, with options for two more. This deal comes just a year after Luxair’s previous order for 737-7 and 737-8 models.
11:45 AM- Qatar Airways unveils its new Qsuite Next Gen Business Class at FIA 2024. Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer announced Qsuites and emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to the passenger experience. Al-Meer states that customer experience and satisfaction form a crucial pillar of Qatar Airways’ mission and vision.

11 AM- CFM International reports significant progress on its Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines (RISE) program. Over 250 tests have been completed as part of the RISE technology demonstration. This milestone indicates rapid development in CFM’s effort to create more sustainable aircraft engines.
10:58 AM- FlyDubai (FZ) announces a significant disruption to its fleet expansion plans. The Dubai-based low-cost carrier reveals to Bloomberg it will not receive any new Boeing aircraft in 2024. This unexpected change forces FlyDubai to reassess its growth strategy.
The airline now faces the challenge of revising its route development plans. FlyDubai must evaluate potential changes to flight frequencies across its network due to the lack of new aircraft arrivals.
10: 32 AM- Wow, Boeing opens the book with the first order from National Air Cargo for four 777-200F aircraft. The 777 Freighter holds the title of longest-range twin-engine freighter in the market. It boasts unmatched payload capacity, positioning National Airlines to enhance its commercial cargo services and increase its market share globally.
Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, expresses appreciation for National Airlines’ trust in Boeing and the 777 Freighter. She highlights the aircraft’s potential to deliver greater value to National Airlines’ customers. Pope emphasizes the 777 Freighter’s popularity among operators building future fleets. The model’s cargo capacity, range, and reliability have made it the best-selling freighter of all time, according to Boeing.
10:18 AM- Richard_on_aviation on X: “Not a new aircraft order, but All Nippon Airways (ANA) grows the de Havilland air 8-400 fleet with 7 aircraft. They will be procured and updated by the factory before delivery to the airline.”

9:56 AM- It’s time, Boeing is set to announce the big order for widebody including 777 and 787 from Korean Air, says Bloomberg.
Comac showcases new aircraft variants at the Farnborough Air Show. The Chinese airframer displays models of stretched and high-altitude versions of its C919 narrowbody jet. This marks the first public reveal of these variants. Additionally, Comac’s C919 and ARJ21 aircraft are absent from both static and flying displays, contrasting with their appearances in Singapore.
9:30 AM Local Time– De Havilland Canada Announced the Dash 8 Roadmap. De Havilland plans to open new production facilities at De Havilland Field near Calgary, Alberta. These facilities will become operational in the latter part of this decade, signaling a new phase for the Dash 8 program.
