HO CHI MINH CITY- Vietnam Airlines (VN), the country’s national carrier, announced the launch of the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 on the route connecting New Delhi (DEL) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and the 787-operated flight to Munich (MUC).
This signifies Vietnam Airlines’ official introduction of the Airbus A350 in the rapidly expanding global market, strategically strengthening its presence and offering travel enthusiasts in India a new and enhanced experience.
Vietnam Airlines Deploys A350 for Delhi Flights
Representing a pinnacle of aviation advancement, the Airbus A350, a wide-body aircraft, pledges an unparalleled journey marked by comfort and tranquility at an altitude of 36,000 feet. Recognized for its exemplary safety standards and optimized cabin altitude, ensuring superior air quality, the A350 marks a significant leap in reshaping air travel for Indian patrons.
To elevate the travel experience further, passengers aboard will be treated to a thoughtfully curated Indian food menu, enhancing the gastronomic journey as they indulge in delectable delights amidst the clouds.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Country Manager India, Vietnam Airlines, expressed,
“We have always been invested in India, and when considering further expansion, New Delhi seemed a natural fit. Vietnam Airlines is renowned for its hospitality and commitment to providing a superior travel experience to guests. Introducing the A350 aircraft to Indian travelers is another step in enhancing the overall travel experience and delivering superior hospitality.”
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director of Aeroprime Group [India GSA, Vietnam Airlines], stated,
“Introducing the world-class, state-of-the-art A350 to the Indian market reflects Vietnam Airlines’ deeper commitment to customer experience. This will further enable our guests to enjoy award-winning Vietnamese hospitality, outstanding in-flight cuisine, and top-notch comfort onboard.”
The A350 aircraft will feature a two-class cabin configuration, offering 276 spacious economy seats with extra legroom and 29 full-flat beds in the business class equipped with amenities. All seats on the aircraft include an in-flight entertainment system with HD screens, providing a superior flying experience with the latest collection of movies and TV shows.
These aircraft are 20% more fuel-efficient than similar models, contributing to reduced fuel emissions and ensuring sustainable operations.
New Destination: Munich
Vietnam Airlines is poised to launch its inaugural flight from Munich Airport, scheduled for the conclusion of the summer schedule on October 2, 2024. This development signifies a notable expansion of its Asian flight offerings departing from Munich, introducing twice-weekly services to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The airline plans to utilize a Boeing 787-9 aircraft featuring a convenient three-class seating arrangement, including Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class.
Flights bound for Hanoi are scheduled on Mondays and Saturdays, while those destined for Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, will take off on Tuesdays.
Starting in December 2024, the frequency of flights to Ho Chi Minh City will increase to twice per week, incorporating Thursdays into the schedule. With this addition, Munich Airport becomes the fourth European destination in Vietnam Airlines’ route network, alongside Frankfurt, London Heathrow, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport, expressed confidence in the new routes, stating,
“The new routes will expand our range of Asian connections and reinforce Munich Airport’s position as one of the leading aviation hubs in Europe. We are confident that these new direct flights will be very well received by our passengers and help to enhance further economic relations and cultural exchange between Bavaria and Vietnam.”
Strengthening Ties with Germany and India
Vietnam has become an immensely popular holiday destination in Southeast Asia, standing out as one of the most frequented countries in Asia-Pacific.
The launch of these new routes emphasizes the importance of economic relations between Germany and Vietnam, highlighting Vietnam’s position as a pivotal travel destination in Southeast Asia for both the German and Bavarian markets. Notably, numerous research and educational partnerships exist between Bavarian and Vietnamese universities, accompanied by significant investments from Bavarian companies in Vietnam.
With its enchanting natural beauty and vibrant traditions, Vietnam invites Indian travelers to discover its wonders. According to Google Trends, Vietnam secured the title of the “Most Searched Destination for Indians in 2023.”
Presently, Vietnam Airlines offers 14 weekly flights connecting Delhi and Mumbai to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Additionally, the airline facilitates smooth connections from India to China, Japan, Korea, Australia, and ASEAN countries.
