FORT WORTH- Over the weekend of February 4, 2024, American Airlines (AA) updated its schedule for the initial changes to its intercontinental service for the Northern winter 2024/25 season.
As of February 2024, American Airlines, a member of the Oneworld alliance, provides services to 224 domestic destinations and 126 international destinations across 63 countries with a fleet of 950+ aircraft.
American Airlines Intercontinental Flight Changes
The planned modifications are as follows:
Starting October 27, 2024, American Airlines will resume daily service from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Rio de Janeiro Galeao using a 787-8, marking the return of this route (last served until February 2018). The schedule for this route is as follows:
- AA937 DFW: 19:00 – 08:00+1 GIG, operated by a 788
- AA936 GIG: 23:30 – 06:50+1 DFW, operated by a 788
Additionally, there are several other changes to American Airlines’ intercontinental service effective October 27, 2024:
- Dallas/Ft. Worth to Tokyo Haneda: The Boeing 787-8 will be replaced by a 787-9, operating one daily flight.
- Dallas/Ft. Worth to Tokyo Narita: The 787-8 will be replaced by a 777-200ER, operating one daily flight.
- Los Angeles to Tokyo Haneda: The 787-8 will be replaced by a 787-9, with two daily flights.
- Miami to Buenos Aires Ezeiza: The seasonal 3rd daily AA931/934 services will resume, operating one daily flight. The overall frequency will be three daily flights, previously scheduled as three weekly from October 27, 2024, and one daily from December 18, 2024.
- Miami to Rio de Janeiro Galeao: The seasonal 2nd daily AA991/948 service will resume, operating one daily flight. The previous schedule was three weekly from December 5, 2024, and one daily from December 18, 2024.
- New York JFK to Rio de Janeiro Galeao: One daily flight is scheduled for the entire season, replacing the previous Christmas/New Year period schedule. The operation will be conducted with a 777-200ER.
As previously reported, American Airlines is also introducing a daily service from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Brisbane starting October 26, 2024, utilizing a 244-seater 787-9.
