MUMBAI- In a collaborative effort between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Maharashtra Government led by Shiv Sena leader and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the much-anticipated “Mumbai Air Show 2024” has been officially announced.
Scheduled to take place from January 12 to January 14, 2024, between 12 pm to 1 pm over Marine Drive, this IAF outreach program promises a spectacular showcase of aerobatic prowess.

The event will feature thrilling displays by the renowned Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Team (SKAT) and the impressive ‘Sarang’ Helicopter display team.
Furthermore, as outlined in an official government statement, the Mumbai Air Show 2024 will encompass a diverse array of aerial activities.
Attendees can expect mesmerizing performances, including a flypast and low-level aerobatic displays by the Su-30 MKI, captivating freefall and parachute displays presented by the esteemed ‘Akashganga’ team, and the awe-inspiring maneuvers of the C-130 aircraft.
Further, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, established in 1996 and affiliated with the 52nd Squadron of the IAF, holds the esteemed position of being designated as a brand ambassador for the Indian Air Force.
Comprising 13 skilled pilots operating Hawk MK 132 aircraft, the team’s participation adds an extra layer of excellence to the much-anticipated Mumbai Air Show 2024, as reported by the news agency PTI.

Partial closure of Mumbai Airport announced: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will experience the temporary closure of its two runways from 12 pm to 1 pm.
The decision stems from the Indian Air Force’s scheduled Aerial Display exercise in Mumbai. As a result, both runways, namely RWY 09/27 & 14/32, will be non-operational from 12:00 hrs. to 13:00 hrs. on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of January 2024, as communicated through a tweet from CSMIA.
In a passenger advisory, CSMIA emphasized the importance of passengers verifying their scheduled flights with their respective airlines before heading to the airport on the specified days.
