Currently, the airline is awaiting approvals from the governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait to commence operations in these regions.
Dube conveyed optimism about the expected timeline, mentioning, “We’re looking at another few months, hopefully 3-4 months. However, our progress is somewhat contingent on obtaining necessary permissions from third parties in foreign countries.”
The CEO outlined a gradual approach to launching international operations, identifying the initial destinations as Doha, Kuwait, Riyadh, and Jeddah.
He emphasized Akasa Air’s plan to expand its footprint across the Middle East and Southeast Asia, encompassing destinations such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives.
In response to inquiries about the timeline for commencing international flights, Dube stated, “Without a doubt, you should see us flying to these international destinations in the first half.”
This declaration provides a transparent view of the airline’s timetable, providing anticipated details for travelers eagerly awaiting the launch of Akasa Air’s international services.
Underlining the airline’s growth strategy, Dube revealed that Akasa Air has significantly expanded its pilot team in the last six months, bringing in more than 150 pilots. This brings the total count to over 500 pilots, positioning Akasa Air for substantial growth in the months ahead.
