GURUGRAM- Tata-owned Air India (AI), a prominent global airline in India, has officially declared its intention to expand its flight operations significantly with 400+ weekly flights, new destinations, and 30+ aircraft in over six months.
This expansion plan is set to encompass both its domestic and international routes until March 2024 under the Winter Schedule ’23.

Air India New Flights and Destinations
Capitalizing on the anticipated arrival of new aircraft in the next half-year, Air India seeks to bolster its domestic network within India. This initiative involves the addition of more than 200 weekly flights across various routes, connecting major Indian cities like Mumbai and Delhi.
Simultaneously, the airline has plans to enhance its international route network, with over 200 weekly flights in the pipeline, of which more than 80 have already been incorporated into the schedule.
Furthermore, Air India is gearing up to introduce four new international destinations, with details to be disclosed at a later date.
As the Winter Schedule ’23 commences, Air India has significantly increased flight frequencies by a factor of 25 on eight international routes spanning Southeast Asia, the United States, and Europe.
Notable enhancements include the expansion of weekly frequencies on various routes, such as
- Mumbai-Singapore, which has increased from 7 times to 13 times per week,
- Delhi-Bangkok from 7 times to 14 times, Delhi-Dhaka from 7 times to 12 times,
- Delhi-Newark (New Jersey) from 3 times to 4 times,
- Delhi-San Francisco from 10 times to 11 times,
- Delhi-Washington D.C. from 3 times to 4 times,
- Delhi-Copenhagen from 3 times to 4 times,
- Delhi-Milan from 4 times to 5 times, and
- Mumbai-Doha from 7 times to 9 times per week.
Furthermore, Air India has introduced new flight routes, encompassing Bengaluru-Singapore, Kochi-Doha, Kolkata-Bangkok, and Mumbai-Melbourne.

During the period from now until March 2024, Air India anticipates the incorporation of more than 30 aircraft into its fleet, comprising a combination of widebody and narrowbody planes. This includes six A350s, four Boeing 777s, and 20 A320neos.
