LONDON, GURUGRAM- India’s largest carrier, IndiGo (6E), and the Flag carrier of UK British Airways (BA), have forged a codeshare agreement to enhance connections between India and the United Kingdom.
Commencing on October 12, 2023, this collaboration aims to provide travelers with improved connectivity options between the two countries.

IndiGo British Airways Codeshare
British Airways, through this codeshare partnership with IndiGo, will have the opportunity to extend its network by including three additional routes: Thiruvananthapuram to London Heathrow via Mumbai, Rajkot to London Heathrow via Mumbai, and Vadodara to London Heathrow via Mumbai.
This arrangement streamlines travel for passengers traveling from places like Rajkot to London or those connecting through London Heathrow. They can now easily book a single ticket for their entire journey.
IndiGo, renowned for its extensive domestic and regional network utilizing A320 aircraft, will provide exclusive advantages to British Airways customers continuing their travel with IndiGo.
These passengers will receive complimentary meals and benefit from British Airways’ generous baggage allowance in the economy class, which encompasses two checked bags weighing up to 23 kilograms per person.

Executive Insights
Abhijit Dasgupta, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm about the codeshare agreement, stating that it expands the travel choices available to British Airways customers for journeys to and from London Heathrow.
By leveraging IndiGo’s extensive network in India, this partnership promotes trade and commerce between the two nations and offers convenient travel options for students and tourists.
Neil Chernoff, Director of Network and Alliances at British Airways, highlighted the benefits of the partnership.
He mentioned that customers will now have the ability to book their entire journey on a single ticket, facilitating seamless travel from London to their final destinations. This partnership enhances flexibility and choice for travelers.

Experience the British Hospitality
British Airways is steadily exceeding its pre-pandemic flight levels to India, especially as it approaches the celebration of its 100th year of operating flights to Delhi next year. The airline currently runs 56 flights per week to five major Indian cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.
Travelers flying between Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore can enjoy British Airways’ newly designed Club Suite in the business class cabin. This suite offers direct-aisle access, suite doors for enhanced privacy, and luxurious flat-bed seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration.
Starting from next week, passengers will also observe the introduction of British Airways’ first new uniform in two decades, worn by cabin crew, pilots, and check-in agents.
The codeshare flights are now open for booking, and travel is scheduled to commence on October 12, 2023, subject to government approvals.
