LONDON- Flag carrier of the UK, British Airways (BA), has significantly expanded its inflight entertainment offerings, doubling the content available for passengers since the beginning of the year.
Travellers can now enjoy a diverse selection of brand-new content during their flights, including boxsets, movies, podcasts, children’s programs, and more.
British Airways Double Downs Onboard Content
British Airways anticipates over one million customers* engaging with the inflight entertainment system on its long-haul flights in August.
The offerings include an impressive lineup of 75+ complete boxsets and 20 classic franchises. Movie enthusiasts can indulge in more than 50 new releases like Paint, Love Again, and The Covenant.
Additionally, through its Paramount+ partnership, British Airways offers exclusive content such as Rabbit Hole: The Algorithms of Control, The Flatshare, and Grease: Rise of The Pink Ladies.
Movie boxsets, like the entire Harry Potter series, Indiana Jones, and Mission Impossible, are also available for travellers to enjoy binge-watching blockbuster favourites comfortably from their seats.
In addition to an extensive array of visual entertainment, music enthusiasts can delight in over 770 pieces of audio content on British Airways flights.
This selection includes the highly popular NewlyWeds podcast, which features Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo and offers travellers a captivating listen.
For those seeking some laughter and light-hearted entertainment, the airline offers a variety of British Original content, including highlights from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022.
Titles like The Fringe, Fame and Me and Just for Laughs promise to keep passengers entertained and amused throughout their journey.

According to Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, they understand the significance of offering a diverse range of entertainment options for their customers during flights, as it is something that passengers eagerly anticipate.
Consequently, they have dedicated efforts to expand their content library, effectively doubling the entertainment choices available to travellers.
Through partnerships with esteemed brands like Paramount+ and the creation of a dedicated British Original channel, British Airways aims to cater to a wide audience with an array of options.
Whether it’s the latest blockbuster movie, a captivating podcast, or engaging content for kids, there’s something to suit every passenger’s preference during their summer flight.
The airline offers more than 26 Kid’s Classics for families travelling in August, including beloved shows like Scoob!, Peppa Pig, and Paw Patrol.
The new ‘Summer Fun’ category also boasts 20 programs featuring exciting titles like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Trolls. In contrast, a brand-new Lego category ensures a delightful experience to break up long journeys.
Other Offerings
Passengers who prefer streaming content on their personal devices can make use of British Airways’ WiFi connectivity, which offers a variety of packages, including messaging and ‘browse and stream’ options.
The airline is progressively expanding WiFi access to both its long and short-haul fleet, and most of its aircraft now have this feature.
In addition, British Airways is enhancing its meal offerings for travellers heading to Delhi and Mumbai from London Heathrow on both outbound and inbound flights.
This includes introducing full secondary hot meals across all cabins, and customers flying in Club World (business class) can enjoy a selection of chilled snacks from the Club Kitchen.
Starting from August 9, the airline is introducing a brand-new snack in Euro Traveller (economy) with a choice of banana cake or a sultana flapjack, available on all flights departing from London Heathrow and London Gatwick.
Onground Enhancements
On the ground, British Airways has also made improvements to its lounge menus, including an enhanced selection of hot breakfasts, afternoon tea, and Great British Picnic treats at its Galleries lounges in London Heathrow and London Gatwick.
Across its US lounges, the airline has introduced à la carte First Dining with local specialities and a British Original offering featuring new cocktails, locally crafted beers, and other beverages.
Recently, British Airways unveiled its new Whispering Angel bar at London Heathrow Terminal 5, where customers can enjoy a chilled glass of the famous rosé from Château d’Esclans in Provence before their flight.
The airline has also introduced various surprises for summer holidays, including seasonal menus, complimentary ice cream for long-haul daytime flights from London Gatwick and London Heathrow in World Traveller (economy) and World Traveller Plus (premium economy), as well as the reintroduction of bubbles pre-takeoff in World Traveller Plus.
