Furthermore, Phoenix’s largest airline will boost daily flights between PHX and Guadalajara (GDL), providing a total of two daily flights.
With these new and expanded services, American will create an unparalleled network. Seamlessly connecting customers from destinations like PSC, TIJ, GDL, and more to the airline’s global network.
This will open up a wide range of choices for local residents planning their winter vacations.

The airline aims to connect customers to fresh experiences across its network while catering to tens-of-thousands of daily connecting passengers at Phoenix Sky Harbor.
Enhanced Opportunities for Travel
These newly announced flights augment the almost 30 additional daily flights added to American’s winter schedule last month, making it the airline’s most extensive schedule in nearly a decade.
The expanded offerings will significantly benefit passengers seeking convenient and direct travel options to popular destinations.
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego lauds the addition of the direct, non-stop flight to Tijuana, Mexico. This new connection further solidifies Phoenix’s position as a major hub and one of Mexico’s significant air travel markets.
The mayor believes that the expansion will strengthen the tourism industry, support businesses, and create more job opportunities for Phoenicians.
As American Airlines continues to grow its presence in Mexico, Tijuana will become the airline’s 26th destination in the country.
With the greatest number of flights to the most destinations, American holds a leading position among U.S. airlines in Mexico.
For the winter season, American plans to operate over 720 peak weekly flights between the U.S. and Mexico, marking an 8% increase in capacity for the 2023-2024 holiday season compared to the previous year.
