MINNEAPOLIS- Good news for Minnesotans dreaming of a Hawaiian getaway! Delta Air Lines (DL) is introducing a direct flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to Maui (OGG) for the upcoming winter season.
According to an internal memo obtained by Thrifty Traveler, Delta will begin daily flights from Minneapolis to Maui on a new seasonal route starting December 16.
Although Delta has not publicly announced this new route to Hawaii yet, tickets are expected to go on sale this Saturday. It should be noted that the flights to Maui will operate only during the season. But the specific end date has not been disclosed at this time.

Delta Minneapolis to Maui Flights
Delta Airlines already offers direct flights from its Minnesota hub to Honolulu (HNL). However, adding a nonstop route to Maui will provide travelers with a convenient option to reach their favorite beach resorts without needing a connection.
Delta will operate the flights to Maui using a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Which has an older Delta One business class seat configuration but offers a spacious 2-4-2 layout for economy class passengers. While Delta Comfort Plus seats are available with extra legroom. There is no Delta Premium Select cabin on this particular aircraft.
The scheduled departure time for flights from Minneapolis to Maui is 11:45 a.m., with an arrival time of 4:55 p.m. In the eastbound direction, flights will depart from Maui at 6:20 p.m. and arrive in Minneapolis the following morning at 6:10 a.m.
Due to Delta’s strong presence in Minneapolis and its exclusive nonstop routes to Hawaii, airfares are often higher.

Strong Expansion
With the addition of the new Maui route, Delta will now operate a total of 14 weekly flights from Minneapolis to Hawaii. Further, including the existing Honolulu route.
Maui is known for its exceptional resorts, stunning beaches, and attractions like the Road to Hana and Haleakala. It is consistently a favorite among the Hawaiian islands.
This expansion is part of Delta’s ongoing efforts to increase its presence in Hawaii, which has seen a steady recovery in travel since the lifting of pandemic-related restrictions. Delta introduced three additional routes in the previous year. Detroit and New York City to Honolulu and Atlanta to Maui.
Delta provides nonstop service to Hawaii from 10 mainland cities, including Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Salt Lake City, and Seattle.
Starting this winter, DL will launch a seasonal nonstop route from Minneapolis to Maui. The daily flights are set to commence on December 16th, providing travelers with convenient connectivity. The airline plans to make the flight tickets available for purchase starting this Saturday.
