MUMBAI- India’s largest carrier, IndiGo (6E) Airlines, has operated the first commercial flight of its Boeing 777 painted in its own 6E livery. Further, the aircraft is taken on a wet lease from Turkish Airlines (TK).
IndiGo took the delivery of the Boeing 777, which has a registration TC-LKD, on May 28, 2023. The induction of the new Boeing 777 will help strengthen the codeshare partnership between IndiGo and Turkish Airlines. Further, this is the third Boeing 777 added to the 6E fleet.
IndiGo Boeing 777 First Commercial Flight
According to Flight Radar 24, the flight tracking website, IndiGo Boeing 777, TC-LKD is conducting the first commercial flight as we write this article. Furthermore, the aircraft took off from Delhi IGI Int’l Airport (DEL) at 8:05 AM IST, with approximately one hour delay.
The IndiGo operating 6E11 flight will be airborne for approx six hours and 30 minutes. Subsequently, the plane is expected to land at Istanbul international airport (IST) at 11:40 AM IST.
As per the published schedule, the IndiGo will fly back to Delhi after 9 hours from landing in Istanbul. Further, the aircraft will have less than two hours turnaround time at Delhi and will again fly to Istanbul.
Furthermore, the Return flight 6E12 of IndiGo will take off from Istanbul at 8:30 PM IST and will land at DEL at 5:00 AM IST.
IndiGo Boeing 777 lands at Delhi
According to Flight Radar 24, the flight tracking website, the IndiGo Airlines Boeing 777-300ER took off from Istanbul Airport (IST) at 1:46 Am.
After being airborne for five hours and 30 minutes and covering a distance of 4,525 Km, it landed at Delhi Airport (DEL) at 9:44 Am (All times are based on Local timezone).
The delivery flight by Turkish Airlines operated as the TK4912. Subsequently, you can also track it as 6E4912, as both have the codeshare agreement. Furthermore, the Boeing 777-300ER has the registration TC-LKD and will not include the Indian VT- code.
With the latest Boeing 777 delivery, the IndiGo airline now has more than 310 aircraft fleet. Subsequently, it includes 39 ATRs, 185 A320s, 86 A321s, and Three Boeing 777s on wet lease.
