The news first reported by Aviation A2Z has now made official that Tata Air India and Vistara have entered an Interline agreement with each other.
This partnership allows for seamless travel on Vistara’s route network for Air India’s customers to and from more than 80 destinations on Air India’s extensive domestic and global network.

Air India Vistara Interline Agreement
In their partnership agreement, Air India and Vistara will implement Inter Airline Through Check-in (IATCI) to provide guests with a hassle-free travel experience.
With IATCI, passengers can receive their boarding passes and check their baggage through to their final destination on a single ticket at the first point of departure.
This service is available at most major airports in India. As Air India and Vistara operate at the same terminals. Further simplifying the travel experience for guests with interline itineraries.
Air India and Vistara have also incorporated the ‘Interline Considerations on Irregular Operations (IROPs)’ or ‘disruption transfer’ functionality.
This facilitates the seamless transfer of passengers between the two airlines’ first available alternative flights in case of operational disruptions such as delays, cancellations, diversions, etc. This approach minimizes any inconvenience caused to their guests.

Air India and Vistara CEO Insights
Regarding the interline partnership between Air India and Vistara, Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD of Air India, expressed satisfaction with the enhanced connectivity. Subsequently, the partnership will offer convenience to their joint customers traveling within and outside of India.
Wilson also highlighted their common commitment to safety and customer service as the main driving force behind the partnership.
Vinod Kannan, CEO of Vistara, also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. Citing the deep-rooted commitment of both airlines to provide their customers with the most convenient way to travel across the world.
Kannan added that the partnership brings together two leading airlines in India to offer greater convenience and enhanced connectivity to customers traveling across their joint network. Further, they look forward to strengthening their relationship with Air India and connecting their customers to new destinations.
