At the Dubai Arabian Travel Market 2023 event, Emirates signed a Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with three tourism boards, including Tourism Seychelles, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
The agreements serve to reinforce the airline’s dedication to the island countries and establish joint initiatives to promote trade and tourism in each location.
Emirates with Tourism Seychelles
Emirates has had a long-standing partnership with Seychelles since 2005. Continuously supporting the growth of the country’s tourism industry. The airline’s commitment to the nation continues through the renewal of a decade-long agreement. Further, it promotes tourism and expands its appeal across EK’s global network of over 140 passenger destinations.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ SVP Commercial West Asia & Indian Ocean, and Sherin Francis, Principal Secretary Tourism Department, Tourism Seychelles, in the presence of Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer.
The agreement outlines initiatives to increase visitation, including trade shows, exhibitions, familiarization trips, and workshops. Emirates will also support Tourism Seychelles’ Lospitalite Lafyerte Sesel award program. Which recognizes outstanding service standards by top operators and individuals.
Emirates presently operates two daily flights to Seychelles and was the first international airline to restart passenger services to the nation in August 2020. Subsequently coinciding with the country’s reopening to international tourists.
Emirates with Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority
Emirates and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) have renewed their partnership. Promote the country’s tourism and trade industries for the tenth consecutive year.
The agreement outlines various initiatives, including joint familiarisation trips, special packages for various customer segments, and promotional campaigns through Emirates’ global network of agents.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial West Asia & Indian Ocean, and Mr. Arvind Bundhun, Director, MTPA, in the presence of Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer.
Emirates’ flagship A380 aircraft operates two daily direct flights to Mauritius. With over 6.5 million passengers on the Dubai-Mauritius route since 2002.
Emirates with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau
Emirates has affirmed its support to revive Sri Lanka’s tourism and trade industries with a new agreement, which is part of its long-standing commitment to the country.
The MoU was signed by Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial West Asia & Indian Ocean, and K.P.P. Siriwardana, Managing Director of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, in the presence of Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer.
This partnership details various initiatives, such as developing programs. Further collaborating on joint familiarisation trips and engaging with agents in key markets to promote the destination.
Emirates began operating in Sri Lanka in 1986 and has carried over 11 million passengers on the route since then. It currently offers two direct daily flights to Colombo and an additional daily service via Male. Furthermore, EK is the only international airline that provides first-class services to Sri Lanka.
