Qatar Airways A350 Tail Strike
Flight QR614, operated by a Qatar Airways Airbus A350-900 with registration A7-ALN, had a tail strike during landing at Islamabad’s runway 28L on 16th April.
After the initial landing, the plane performed a go-around before landing safely on the same runway fifteen minutes later. Following the flight, the aircraft was inspected, and the tail strike was discovered.
According to the flight tracking website Flight Radar 24, the aircraft involved in the incident has the registration A7-ALN. The plane is 6 years and 3 months old, as reported by the Planspotters.net site.
The flag carrier of Qatar regularly operates flights as QR614 with multiple aircraft. The QR614 is a daily non-stop flight from Doha International Airport (DOH), the world’s best airport, to Islamabad Airport (ISB), Pakistan.
The airline deploys its Airbus A350s, Boeing 787s and 777s on this route. On the 16th of April 2023, the airline deployed A350 A7-ALN. The plane took off at 11:26 PM UTC and landed at Islamabad with some delay. The actual landing time of QR614 is 2:40 AM UTC.
