Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022, India’s largest drone festival, was launched today at 10 a.m. in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Bharat Drone Mahotsav will take place on May 27 and 28, and will be a two-day event.
As part of the event, the Indian Prime Minister is expected to interact with kisan drone pilots, watch open-air drone demos, and meet with startups at the drone exhibition centre.
“Tomorrow, May 27, at 10 a.m., I will participate in the Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022. With the goal of boosting India’s position in the sector, this meeting brings together key players, including start-ups. All those interested in technology and innovation should watch the show, in my opinion“
PM Modi made a statement on Twitter
According to the prime minister’s office, over 1600 attendees, including government officials, foreign diplomats, the armed forces, the central armed police force, drone startups, and others, are expected to attend the drone festival.
“At the event, more than 70 exhibitors will demonstrate various drone use cases,” the PMO stated in a statement.
The drone festival will also feature virtual awards, product debuts, panel talks, flying demos, and the showcasing of a Made in India Drone Taxi prototype, among other things.
The festival takes place as the government pushes for widespread drone use in a variety of industries, including agriculture. The federal government intends to increase domestic demand for drone services.
Earlier this month, civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia introduced two policies at the state-run think tank NITI Aayog, where he debuted a drone experience studio. Drone Shakti and Kisan Drone are two among them.
Various incentives for farmers and organisations to use drones commercially have been included in revised federal rules for Kisan Drone. According to Scindia, the cost of drone pilot training courses will drop dramatically in the near future.
