SpiceJet will take on more Boeing 737 Max jets in the coming months, and the airline hopes to launch broadband internet access on its planes soon, according to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Ajay Singh.
According to the airline’s website, it has a fleet of 91 planes, with 13 Max planes and 46 earlier models of Boeing 737 planes.
"The Boeing 737 Max, our fleet's flagship, has successfully returned to service and received positive feedback from passengers. We will add many more Max aircraft to our fleet in the coming months, with the goal of replacing all of our older aircraft with the Max "he said.
SpiceXpress, the airline’s profitable cargo division, will acquire a large number of freighter aircraft, bolstering and reinforcing its industry leading position, he said.
“This year, we’ll continue to expand our network with new items and routes.
SpiceClub, our fantastic loyalty programme, recently released a co-branded credit card, and we’re hoping to provide a broadband internet service onboard our planes soon “he stated.
SpiceJet’s route network will also expand to cover additional destinations in India and beyond the world, according to the company’s CEO.
"SpiceJet has been recognised for the outstanding role you all performed in helping your country during the Covid crisis," he remarked.
