Chairman N Chandrasekaran staged a substantial restructuring in Air India ‘s senior management on Friday, naming Nipun Agarwal as Chief Commercial Officer and Suresh Dutt Tripathi as Chief Human Resource Officer.
Mr. Agarwal, who is also a senior vice president of Tata Sons, will take over for Air India veteran Meenakshi Malik, while Mr. Tripathi, who served as vice president of human resources at Tata Steel from 2012 to 2021, will take over for Amrita Sharan.
Mr. Chandrasekaran, who is also the chairman of Tata Sons, issued the order.
Ms Malik and Ms Sharan were recruited as advisors to Air India’s CEO on Friday, according to a company statement.
Ms. Malik and Ms. Sharan will currently serve as consultants to Mr. Chandrasekaran, while the Tata group has yet to choose the CEO of Air India.
Satya Ramaswamy, who previously worked at Tata Consultancy Services, was named Chief Digital and Technology Officer of Air India on Friday, according to the order.
At AirIndia, Rajesh Dogra has been named Head of Customer Experience and Ground Handling.
According to the statement, another Air India veteran, Vinod Hejmadi, would continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
“As per delegation of authority, the newly appointed personnel will exercise the powers of functional and departmental leaders.”
In the order, Mr. Chandrasekaran added, “We wish them all the best in their new assignment.”
