Alliance Air will no longer be a subsidiary of Air India and will be administered as an independent business unit under the Government of India, the businesses announced on Friday.
"After its disinvestment on April 15, 2022, Alliance Air will no longer be a part of Air India and would be administered as an independent Business Unit under the Government of India," according to an official statement made by Alliance Air.
In a statement, Alliance Air CEO Vineet Sood said, “Going forward with absolute efficiency, Alliance Air will now sell its tickets under the Alliance Air logo.”
Air India tweeted, “For the kind attention of our esteemed passengers: Alliance Air is no longer a subsidiary of Air India.”
“Air India passengers who have tickets with a 4-digit flight number starting with 9 or a 3-digit flight number starting with 91 should be advised that their bookings have been transferred to Alliance Air.”
According to Air India, “after April 15, 2022, Air India will no longer take Alliance Air bookings or queries.”
The announcement comes just three months after the Tata Group acquired Air India from the Indian government.
