The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has announced that beginning on August 31, domestic airline ticket price limitations would no longer apply.
There was a big sigh of relief among Indian carriers, worried that the current export taxes on petroleum products would negatively affect flights leaving the country. The authorities have clarified that it has rolled back excise duty on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) operated for international operations.
Scheduled international flight services were stopped in March 2020 due to the pandemic. However, special flights have been running between India and 37 countries since July 2020 under air bubble arrangements.
