SEATTLE- Alaska Airlines (AS) and Hawaiian Airlines (HA) will introduce year-round nonstop service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Osaka, Japan (KIX), and Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia (PPT).
Hawaiian Airlines will launch the Seattle-Osaka route on May 14, 2027, and Seattle-Papeete on June 11, 2027. Introductory round-trip Main Cabin fares start at $1,199 for Osaka and $999 for Papeete through October 26, 2026, subject to availability.

Seattle’s New Pacific Routes Expand Global Connectivity
The new routes will become the 8th and 9th long-haul intercontinental additions to Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines’ growing network from Seattle. The expansion supports Alaska Accelerate, the company’s strategy to connect the Pacific Northwest with more international destinations.
According to the airline, the combined carrier will offer the only nonstop service between Seattle and Osaka and between Seattle and Papeete when the new routes launch. Travelers will also have access to connections from cities across the airlines’ combined network.
The expansion supports the company’s goal of establishing Seattle as a global gateway with at least 15 long-haul intercontinental destinations by 2030. Osaka and Papeete will join existing and previously announced international services from Seattle, including London, Tokyo, Seoul, Rome, ReykjavÃk, Athens and Paris.

New Nonstop Tahiti Service
Hawaiian Airlines will begin year-round nonstop service between Seattle and Papeete on June 11, 2027. The route will operate three times per week using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Papeete, located on the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia, serves as a gateway to the region’s islands. The new service will provide travelers across the United States with a more direct way to reach Tahiti, including passengers whose current journeys require multiple connections.
Hawaiian Airlines has served Papeete from Honolulu since 1987 and will continue operating that route. The Seattle service will expand travel options across the combined network.
The announced schedule is as follows:
| Route | Start date | Weekly frequency | Departure | Arrival |
|---|---|---|---|---|

The outbound Seattle-Papeete service is scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The return service is scheduled for Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
