DELHI— British Airways (BA) has expanded its India network by adding a third daily flight between Delhi (DEL) and London Heathrow (LHR), giving passengers another direct option between the Indian capital and the UK.
The additional service began on September 20, 2026, with the inaugural flight arriving in Delhi at 6:00 am. The new Delhi-London Heathrow flight is operated with a Boeing 787, adding capacity to one of British Airways’ key India routes.
The expansion comes ahead of the winter season, when the airline plans to operate up to 70 weekly flights between India and London Heathrow, 25 percent more than it offered during the same period last year.
British Airways Adds Third Flight to Delhi
The additional frequency gives travelers more flexibility when planning journeys between Delhi and London.
It also increases the number of daily departure options available to passengers traveling from India to the UK, particularly those seeking connections beyond London.
British Airways has introduced the service as part of a broader expansion of its India schedule.
The airline is also offering special fares from Delhi to London to mark the additional frequency, providing another incentive for passengers considering travel between the two cities.
The carrier said London-Delhi ranked among the most searched routes on its website earlier in September. That level of online interest points to sustained attention toward the route as British Airways increases its available capacity.
70 Weekly Flights for India-London Routes
The new Delhi frequency takes British Airways’ planned India-London Heathrow schedule to as many as 70 flights each week during the winter season.
The figure represents a 25 percent increase compared with last year and makes India one of the airline’s largest markets outside the UK.
British Airways currently serves five destinations in India: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai.
The airline operates up to three daily flights from both Delhi and Mumbai, while Bengaluru receives up to two daily services and Hyderabad and Chennai each have daily flights to London Heathrow.
The airline has maintained a long-standing presence in the Indian market and has continued to expand its schedule as demand for travel between the two countries develops.
Its current India network combines multiple daily frequencies on major metropolitan routes with daily services from other cities.
British Airways’ Heathrow Connections
Beyond the nonstop Delhi-London market, the new service has been timed to support onward connections at Heathrow.
Passengers arriving in London can use the airport as a connecting point for destinations across the United States and other international markets.
The expanded schedule therefore adds capacity not only for passengers traveling between Delhi and London, but also for travelers using Heathrow as part of longer international journeys.
The additional frequency can provide greater choice in connection times and help passengers coordinate onward travel.
British Airways Chief Customer and People Officer Lisa Tremble said: ‘India remains one of the airline’s most important markets.’
She said the third daily Delhi service would provide greater choice while supporting connections linked to trade, tourism, education and cultural ties between India and the UK.
The expansion reinforces British Airways’ presence in India as the airline enters the winter travel season with a larger schedule and up to 70 weekly flights between India and London Heathrow.
