DUBAI- Emirates (EK) will introduce its new Airbus A350 on flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) from September 1, expanding the airline’s latest cabin products in Malaysia.
The A350 will operate EK344/345, adding 28 Premium Economy seats per flight and increasing Emirates’ daily Premium Economy capacity in Kuala Lumpur to 52 seats alongside the retrofitted Boeing 777 operating EK346/347.
Emirates Deploying A350 to Kuala Lumpur
Emirates will deploy its Airbus A350 on the Dubai-Kuala Lumpur route from September 1, giving passengers access to the airline’s newest aircraft alongside its retrofitted Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 services.
The A350 will operate flights EK344 and EK345. The aircraft features 32 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy Class seats, providing 298 seats in total.
The deployment also marks an important milestone in Emirates’ three-decade presence in Malaysia. The airline launched services to Kuala Lumpur 30 years ago and has continued to expand its products and aircraft offerings in the market.
Saeed Mubarak, Emirates Country Manager in Malaysia, said the airline was pleased to introduce its new-generation A350 following the successful deployment of the retrofitted Boeing 777 with Premium Economy on EK346/347.
According to Emirates, Malaysia-based customers will now have access to all three of its flagship aircraft types: the Airbus A350, Boeing 777 and Airbus A380.
Emirates A350 Cabin Configuration
The Emirates A350 introduces a new cabin design focused on upgraded comfort, connectivity and entertainment across its three travel classes.
Business Class features 32 lie-flat seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seats also include wireless charging, allowing passengers to charge compatible devices during the flight.
Premium Economy provides 28 seats, while Economy Class offers 238 seats. The aircraft combines the updated cabin design with newer onboard technology.
Across the premium cabins, electronic window blinds feature the Emirates Ghaf tree motif when closed. Passengers can also access digital inflight menus through the aircraft’s entertainment screens.
4K Entertainment and Improved Wi-Fi
The A350 is equipped with Emirates’ latest generation of its ice inflight entertainment system.
The system includes 4K and 4K HDR displays with responsive touchscreens, giving passengers access to a higher-resolution entertainment experience during the flight.
Emirates also offers Wi-Fi powered by ViaSat’s Global Xpress (GX) satellite network. Improved wireless access points are designed to provide stronger connectivity throughout the aircraft.
More Premium Economy Seats in Kuala Lumpur
The introduction of the A350 increases Emirates’ Premium Economy presence in Kuala Lumpur to 52 seats per day.
The aircraft operating EK344/345 will complement the retrofitted Boeing 777 on EK346/347. This gives passengers departing from or arriving in Kuala Lumpur more opportunities to access Emirates’ upgraded Premium Economy product.
The addition also strengthens the consistency of Emirates’ premium cabin offering for passengers connecting through Dubai.
A350 Connections Through Dubai
Passengers travelling between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai can connect onward to destinations served by Emirates’ A350 through Dubai.
Emirates said customers travelling on EK345 from Kuala Lumpur or arriving on EK344 can access a consistent product experience when connecting to more than 20 destinations across its global network.
These connections include cities such as Istanbul, Lyon and Frankfurt, as well as destinations across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and the Americas.
The A350 deployment therefore provides Kuala Lumpur passengers with access to Emirates’ newest aircraft while also expanding connectivity through the airline’s Dubai hub.
Emirates Strengthens Its Malaysia Network
The A350 introduction comes as Emirates marks 30 years of operations to Kuala Lumpur. The airline’s deployment of its three flagship aircraft types gives the Malaysian market access to a wider range of Emirates cabin products.
With the A350 joining the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 on services to Kuala Lumpur, Emirates is expanding the availability of its latest onboard products while maintaining connections between Malaysia and its wider international network.
