NEW YORK— John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) has appointed Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the strategic technology and innovation partner for its New Terminal One project, marking a significant step toward creating one of the world’s most digitally advanced international airport terminals.
The partnership is designed to improve passenger journeys, strengthen airport operations, and reduce operating costs for airlines through advanced digital technologies.
The New Terminal One is the centerpiece of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion redevelopment of New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
Scheduled to become the airport’s flagship international terminal, the facility will introduce next-generation technology, modern infrastructure, and enhanced operational capabilities as part of JFK’s largest transformation in decades.

TCS to Power New York JFK Terminal One
Under the agreement, TCS will oversee the deployment and management of critical technology systems across the terminal.
These include passenger processing platforms, AI-powered IT operations, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure designed to support daily airport activities.
The company will also integrate its Cognix and ignio technology platforms to provide airport operators and airline partners with real-time operational visibility.
The system will monitor key functions such as baggage handling, passenger processing, terminal security, and IT infrastructure, allowing issues to be identified before they affect airport operations.
By combining artificial intelligence with predictive analytics, the technology aims to improve operational efficiency while delivering a smoother experience for international travelers.
Airlines operating from the terminal are also expected to benefit from lower operating costs through improved resource management and automated processes.

Passenger Experience Through Technology
The New Terminal One is being designed as more than a conventional airport terminal.
Airport officials envision a digitally connected environment where technology supports every stage of the passenger journey, from check-in and security screening to baggage collection and terminal services.
Jennifer Aument, Chief Executive Officer of the New Terminal One, said the partnership will help create an international terminal capable of meeting the expectations of travelers while establishing new standards for airport innovation and operational performance.
TCS President for North America Amit Bajaj said airports are increasingly becoming integrated consumer ecosystems where hospitality, retail, operations, and personalization work together.
He noted that artificial intelligence will play a central role in delivering reliable, seamless, and highly personalized passenger experiences throughout the terminal.

JFK Modernization Project Progress
The New Terminal One forms a major part of JFK Airport’s ongoing redevelopment, which includes two entirely new terminals, modernization of two existing terminals, a new ground transportation center, and a redesigned roadway network.
Once completed, the terminal is expected to become the airport’s largest international facility and aims to achieve a five-star Skytrax rating.
Beyond infrastructure, the partnership highlights the growing role of digital technology in aviation.
TCS will leverage its expertise in travel, transport, and hospitality solutions to build a resilient technology ecosystem capable of supporting future airline growth, increasing passenger demand, and evolving airport operations through AI, cloud computing, and advanced analytics.
