DUBAI— Emirates (EK) has introduced a new special livery on one of its Airbus A380 aircraft, featuring a prominent redesign incorporating the UAE national flag.
The unveiling marks a symbolic visual update on aircraft registered as A6-EVG and reflects the airline’s continued alignment with national identity themes.
The aircraft will operate from Dubai International Airport (DXB), Dubai, and the new design arrives at a time of heightened national symbolism across the United Arab Emirates.
Emirates stated that the livery extends its iconic tail identity while reinforcing its long-standing representation of the UAE flag across its global fleet.

Emirates’ New A380 Livery
Emirates confirmed that the updated Airbus A380 livery introduces a refined depiction of the UAE flag integrated into the aircraft’s exterior design. The airline emphasized that the new visual identity builds upon its established branding rather than replacing its traditional tail fin motif.
A spokesperson for Emirates described the design as “an extension of the iconic tail identity,” reinforcing continuity in the airline’s visual branding strategy.
The aircraft A6-EVG is now among the most visually distinctive in the fleet due to the enlarged flag representation on its fuselage.
Emirates has historically incorporated the UAE flag on its aircraft, but the latest design introduces a more prominent and stylized presentation.
The airline operates one of the world’s largest Airbus A380 fleets, making the visual update highly visible across international routes.

National Symbolism in A6-EVG
The unveiling follows renewed national sentiment in the UAE after a public call by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, encouraging citizens and residents to display the national flag across homes and buildings.
Sheikh Mohammed stated that the UAE flag represents “strength and pride” and called for unity and solidarity under the national banner.
His message emphasized collective identity and national cohesion during a period of regional tension.
The UAE flag, designed by Abdullah Mohammed Al Maainah, features red, green, white, and black pan-Arab colours.
These colours are historically linked to Arab unity and trace back to the Arab Revolt of 1916, representing different eras of Islamic and regional history.

Emirates Fleet Identity
Emirates Airline (EK) has consistently positioned its fleet as a symbol of national pride and global connectivity.
Chairman and Chief Executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum stated that every Emirates aircraft has historically carried the UAE flag as part of its identity.
He noted that the airline views its aircraft as “a tribute to a nation that stands as proof of what is possible when ambition and unity align.”
The new A380 livery further strengthens this positioning by making the flag more visually prominent.
