SEOUL- Korean Air (KE) has completed a major lounge transformation at Incheon International Airport (ICN), marking the final stage of a 42-month infrastructure upgrade. The airline unveiled its redesigned First Class Lounge on April 17 and its Prestige Class West Lounge on April 16 in Terminal 2.
The project represents a KRW 110 billion investment aimed at expanding capacity and elevating passenger experience ahead of Korean Air’s integration with Asiana Airlines. The airline positioned the upgrade as part of a long-term strategy to support rising international traffic.

Korean Air First Class Lounge
Korean Air redesigned the First Class Lounge into a more private and exclusive space, increasing its size to 921 square meters, which is 2.3 times larger than the previous facility. The layout now includes an open hall and 11 private suites designed for individual relaxation.
The airline structured the lounge around the concept of a “home away from home,” using traditional Korean architectural elements such as wooden beams, ramie textures, and heritage-inspired design details. Guests are guided directly into private suites upon entry for a secluded pre-flight experience.
Dining is offered à la carte and uses premium tableware, including Christofle cutlery, Bernardaud porcelain, and Baccarat glassware.
The lounge also showcases curated artwork by international and Korean artists, including Anish Kapoor. Wellness facilities include massage chairs and upgraded shower suites with private powder rooms.

Prestige Class West Lounge
The Prestige Class West Lounge spans 2,615 square meters and accommodates over 420 passengers, making it the largest single lounge facility at Incheon International Airport. The design reflects Korean Air’s premium cabin identity with gold, black, and ivory tones.
The lounge features a full buffet with Korean and Western cuisine, live cooking stations, seasonal menus, and desserts prepared by Grand Hyatt chefs. Traditional Korean snacks such as yakgwa are included alongside rotating seasonal selections.
Korean Air has also integrated digital art installations that change based on viewing angles and time of day. A dedicated Tech Zone supports business travelers, while wellness areas provide massage chairs and relaxation spaces for passengers in transit.

Korean’s Network Expansion
With the reopening of both lounges, Korean Air has expanded its total lounge footprint at Incheon Terminal 2 from 5,105 to 12,270 square meters. Seating capacity has increased from 898 to 1,566 seats across the network.
The airline now operates seven lounges at Incheon Terminal 2, supporting First Class, Prestige, and club-level passengers. Travelers can reserve access using the airline’s mobile app and website-based lounge reservation system.
Korean Air plans to extend similar infrastructure upgrades to key international hubs, including Gimpo International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), as part of its global premium service strategy.
