AMSTERDAM- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL) has imposed a 40-year flying ban on a passenger who illegally boarded a flight at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) bound for Curaçao International Airport (CUR).
The individual held a valid ticket for London but bypassed security controls to access the Curaçao flight, triggering a major operational and security response, NL Times reported.
KLM Bans Passenger for 40 Years
KLM enforced a long-term ban after the passenger unlawfully entered a restricted boarding area and accessed an aircraft without authorization. The incident occurred on Boxing Day at Schiphol Airport, one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs.
The passenger reportedly held a confirmed booking for a KLM flight to London but attempted to board a separate flight to Curaçao without a valid ticket. Witnesses stated that he ran toward the aircraft and boarded before proper checks could be completed.
Cabin crew quickly identified the breach and alerted authorities. The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee boarded the aircraft and detained the individual before departure. The situation required immediate intervention due to aviation security protocols.
