NEW YORK- JetBlue Airways (B6) launched new nonstop service to Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) with its inaugural flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), expanding its Florida network to 11 destinations.
The route improves direct access between the Northeast and Florida’s Emerald Coast.
The airline also introduced new service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS), offering travelers from New York and Boston convenient access to the Gulf Coast while giving Emerald Coast residents new connections across JetBlue Airways’ broader route network.

JetBlue Nonstop Destin Flights
JetBlue Airways (B6) began service to Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) with its first nonstop flight from New York Airport (JFK).
The launch marks JetBlue’s entry into the Florida Panhandle market and strengthens the airline’s leisure travel network linking northeastern US cities with Florida destinations.
The airline also started a new nonstop route connecting Boston Airport (BOS) with Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS).
These routes allow travelers from two major northeastern metropolitan areas to reach the Emerald Coast without connections.
JetBlue introduced limited time promotional fares starting at $69 one way, available through the airline’s official booking platform.
The launch fares aim to attract leisure travelers seeking direct access to one of Florida’s most popular beach destinations.
Dave Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue Airways, stated that the new flights create easier access between the Northeast and the Emerald Coast while also expanding travel opportunities for local residents through JetBlue’s network.
Okaloosa County Board Chairman Trey Goodwin said the new service represents an important addition to passenger operations at Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport and reflects the value of airline partnerships that support regional connectivity.

Emerald Coast Tourism Drives Demand
Destin–Fort Walton Beach is located along Florida’s Panhandle and is widely known for its white sand beaches and emerald-colored Gulf waters. The region attracts leisure travelers seeking coastal vacations and outdoor recreation.
The Emerald Coast also supports a strong fishing tourism sector and offers a relaxed coastal atmosphere that appeals to family vacationers and seasonal travelers.
Spring Break demand plays a major role in regional tourism. To support peak travel demand between April 17 and April 26, JetBlue will operate 2 daily flights between Boston and Destin–Fort Walton Beach on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the holiday travel period.
Flight Schedule and Operations
JetBlue operates the new routes 5 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting March 5, 2026.

Expanded Connections Through JetBlue’s Network
The new routes provide direct travel options for northeastern passengers seeking warm weather destinations along Florida’s Gulf Coast.
For residents of the Emerald Coast, the flights provide access to major northeastern hubs where travelers can connect to destinations across the United States, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe through JetBlue’s focus city network.
The expansion supports both tourism and regional mobility by linking smaller coastal communities with large metropolitan travel markets.

JetBlue Strengthens Its Florida Presence
Florida remains a key market for JetBlue Airways. The airline now serves 11 destinations across the state and maintains a strong presence on routes connecting the Northeast with Florida leisure markets.
Adding Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport expands JetBlue’s footprint into the Florida Panhandle, a region with growing tourism demand but historically limited nonstop connectivity from northeastern cities.
Passengers on the new routes receive JetBlue’s onboard services, including free high speed Fly Fi internet, seatback entertainment screens at every seat, and complimentary snacks and beverages.
