ZURICH- Edelweiss Air (WK) has revealed its new Airbus A350-900 cabin interiors. The upgrade introduces a redesigned business class, a new business class suite product, and improved onboard technology.
The announcement marks a key milestone in Edelweiss Air’s long-haul fleet transition, as the airline replaces Airbus A340-300 aircraft with Airbus A350-900s acquired from LATAM, initially operated with unchanged interiors.

Edelweiss New Airbus A350 Cabins
Edelweiss Air is in the process of modernizing its long-haul fleet by phasing out Airbus A340-300 aircraft in favor of Airbus A350-900 jets.
The A350s were sourced from LATAM and entered service with their original cabin layouts, with a full retrofit planned at a later stage.
The airline has now confirmed the final cabin concept and implementation timeline for all five Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
According to OMAAT, the redesign represents a shift toward a more premium and technologically advanced onboard experience while retaining Edelweiss Air’s leisure-focused positioning.
The new cabin concept is built around the theme “More room to feel good,” combining modern design, high-quality materials, and state-of-the-art technology.
The interior design mirrors the updated exterior livery, featuring darker red and blue tones and the airline’s signature red wave pattern. The cabin aesthetic draws inspiration from comfortable, inviting sofas, creating a calm and contemporary environment.
Elements of modern Swiss architecture influence the design, with reduced forms, clean lines, and selectively applied patterns. Fine detailing and high-quality workmanship are consistent across all travel classes.
Compared to the previous cabin, the color palette has been deliberately simplified, using layered shades of blue to promote visual harmony and a relaxed atmosphere.

Economy Class Improvements
Economy class on the Airbus A350 will retain a 3-3-3 seating configuration, standard for the aircraft type.
Edelweiss Air has increased legroom by approximately three centimeters compared to the previous cabin.
Seats also feature a greater tilt angle, designed to enhance comfort on long-haul flights. The updates focus on functional improvements rather than visual changes, aligning with the airline’s efficiency-driven economy offering.

Premium Economy Cabin Details
The premium economy cabin will feature 28 seats arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration. Edelweiss Air has selected a hard-shell seat design similar to those used by other Lufthansa Group airlines.
Passengers in premium economy will receive a welcome drink, an expanded meal service served on china with table linen, alcoholic beverages, and noise-canceling headphones.
The cabin is positioned as a mid-tier option for travelers seeking added comfort and service without upgrading to business class.

Business Class and Edelweiss Business Suite
Business class will be configured in a 1-2-1 layout, providing direct aisle access from every seat for the first time on Edelweiss Air long-haul aircraft.
The airline has selected a seat platform comparable to the Thompson Aero Vantage XL product, without privacy doors in standard business class rows. Similar configurations are currently used by airlines such as ITA Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
In addition, Edelweiss Air will introduce a new “Business Class Plus” product branded as the Edelweiss Business Suite.
Located in the first row of the cabin, these suites will feature privacy doors, larger footwells, and 32-inch inflight entertainment screens, offering increased personal space and exclusivity.

Inflight Technology and Connectivity
The retrofitted Airbus A350 aircraft will feature upgraded technology throughout all cabins. This includes free Starlink Wi-Fi, part of a wider Lufthansa Group connectivity initiative.
The inflight entertainment system will offer 4K screens, Bluetooth audio connectivity, more than 400 movies and television programs, a 3D flight map, and external camera views.
Premium economy and business class seats will also support wireless charging. USB-A and USB-C ports delivering up to 60 watts of power will be available across the aircraft.

Retrofit Timeline and Fleet Rollout
Edelweiss Air operates a fleet of 5 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The first aircraft equipped with the new cabins is scheduled to enter service in December 2026, with flights available for booking from the summer 2026 schedule.
Additional aircraft will be retrofitted progressively between January and July 2027. The airline expects the entire fleet to feature the new cabins by summer 2027.
The limited fleet size allows Edelweiss Air to complete the full retrofit program within approximately 7 months.
