MONTREAL- Bombardier celebrates the entry into service of the Global 8000, the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde, with a Mach 0.95 speed. First delivery occurs to Patrick Dovigi at the Aircraft Assembly Centre in Mississauga.
The jet achieves an 8,000 nautical miles range and sets an industry benchmark with a 2,691 feet cabin altitude at 41,000 feet cruise. Transport Canada awards type certification, while FAA and EASA approvals follow.

Bombardier Global 8000 Debuts
Bombardier hosts the ceremony at its state-of-the-art Aircraft Assembly Centre in Mississauga (YYZ).
Hundreds of employees, government officials, suppliers, media, and special guests attend. Patrick Dovigi, a loyal customer for over 15 years, accepts keys to the first Global 8000, replacing his Global 7500.
Canadian rock star Tom Cochrane, presented by Rolling Stone Canada, delivers a powerful performance fitting for the debut of the world’s fastest civil aircraft since Concorde.
Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier, states that pride and excitement define the milestone for all 18,000 employees.
“Every innovation and every detail of the Global 8000 reflects the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our teams. This revolutionary aircraft is redefining the business aviation landscape with its innovative design, signature smooth ride, unmatched performance, and a promise fulfilled to our customers.”
Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, calls it a historic moment.
Today’s celebration is a testament to the rigour and dedication of our talented employees and suppliers who have collectively enabled our Global 8000 to set the new standard for speed, range, and cabin comfort in the industry. This is truly a historic moment for Bombardier, our suppliers, and the thousands of dedicated professionals who have brought a no-compromise attitude to this project every single day. Their commitment and dedication underscore everything we do at Bombardier, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”

G8000 Milestones and Certification
The Global 8000 seamlessly completes its flight test program earlier this year. It becomes the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde at Mach 0.95. The jet goes supersonic in testing and flies its inaugural first production flight in May.
Transport Canada granted type certification in November, according to plan, and is meeting commitments to stakeholders and customers. FAA and EASA certifications remain pending, aligned with delivery requirements.
The aircraft exceeds original cabin altitude targets at 2,691 feet when cruising at 41,000 feet. This mark sets the lowest in business aviation production.
Passengers feel similar to standing atop the Burj Khalifa, minimizing physiological stress from high-altitude travel.

Unmatched Performance and Accessibility
The Global 8000 offers an 8,000 nautical miles range as the only true four-zone business jet. It enables nonstop travel between more city pairs than ever before.
Advanced wing design with leading-edge slats provides takeoff and landing performance comparable to a light jet.
Customers access 30% more airports than the closest rival, equaling over 2,000 additional destinations.
The trailblazing business jet flies faster and farther than any ultra-long-range 4 zone competitor. It stands alone as the ultimate home or office in the sky.

Superior Cabin Comfort and Wellness
The Global 8000 features four true living spaces and a separate crew rest area. It provides the longest seated length in its class and the industry’s healthiest cabin.
Bombardier’s Pũr Air system includes HEPA filtration and VOC removal. The Soleil circadian lighting system actively combats jet lag and enhances overall wellness.
These elements combine with the record low cabin altitude to create a new benchmark for passenger wellbeing. Travelers arrive refreshed, alert, and ready to perform.
McCullough emphasizes passenger experience for ultra-long-range travel. “The ultimate comfort in the sky is feeling like you’re at home. We have focused heavily on elevating the passenger experience, imperative priorities for ultra-long-range travel.
With this industry benchmark for reduced cabin altitude, along with numerous other design features, we help passengers have the most comfortable in-flight experiences in the industry.
The Global 8000 is truly the pinnacle of aviation engineering today. Offering the best combination of performance and comfort in the industry, we help our passengers have the most comfortable in-flight experience.”
The reduced cabin altitude perfectly complements the Pũr Air system. Combined, they deliver superior physical well-being on ultra-long flights.

Global 8000 Specifications and Leadership
Bombardier positions the Global 8000 for entry into service in 2025. McCullough notes rigorous collaboration with Transport Canada. “Bombardier has worked rigorously and collaboratively with Transport Canada toward certification for the Global 8000.
This marks a pivotal milestone for Bombardier, our customers, and the entire business aviation industry, solidifying the Global 8000’s position as the unrivaled leader, setting a new standard.
This milestone is a powerful testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of our engineering, test, and production teams.
It showcases their deep expertise and unwavering commitment, qualities that are embedded in Bombardier’s DNA and are the heartbeat that drives everything we do for our valued clients.”
The aircraft serves as the clear choice for discerning owners and operators who prioritize speed, comfort, convenience, and productivity.
