SINGAPORE- Passengers flying with Singapore Airlines (SQ) through Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) benefit from a premium meal pre-order system called “Book the Cook” that delivers more choice and certainty than standard inflight menus.
The service allows travelers to select their preferred main course in advance rather than waiting for onboard availability.
Book the Cook improves catering efficiency while offering an expanded global menu not loaded on the aircraft by default. It also minimizes the risk of first-choice meals running out, especially in high-demand premium cabins.

Singapore Airlines Book the Cook
Singapore Airlines offers three distinct pre-order pathways for premium cabin passengers. Book the Cook provides access to an extensive meal library unavailable on the standard inflight menu.
Pre-selecting from the inflight menu allows passengers to reserve a dish that will be served onboard. The special meals program is designed for travelers with dietary needs requiring meals prepared to medical, cultural, or religious specifications.
Book the Cook is available in Suites, First Class, Business Class, and Premium Economy, with Economy excluded. Eligibility extends to all passengers in those premium cabins, including those who redeemed miles for their ticket.
Orders can be placed up to 6 weeks before departure and must be finalized at least 24 hours before the flight using the “Manage Booking” section on the airline’s website.
Only the main course is reserved; standard appetizers, sides, and desserts are served based on the cabin offering.
Travelers with dietary restrictions are encouraged to select a special meal to ensure every component of the tray is suitable.
Menu availability depends on the departure airport because Singapore Airlines works with different catering providers worldwide.
Book the Cook coverage includes 17 airports for Suites and First Class, 33 airports for Business Class, and 27 airports for Premium Economy.
On long-haul flights with multiple meals, passengers can pre-order more than one Book the Cook selection when breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. The service is not offered on flights under 1.5 hours, nor on meal services designated as refreshments or continental breakfast.

Global Menu Variety and Specialty Dishes
The Book the Cook catalog is known for both international and destination-specific cuisine. Popular dishes include lobster thermidor, grilled angus beef burger, laksa, beef rendang, roti prata, bibimbap, and nasu dengaku.
Regional specialty meals are also offered based on airport origin, such as tonkotsu ramen from Tokyo, tandoori grill from Dubai, and wok-fried black pepper beef from Hong Kong.
Reported by OMAAT, the variety departing Singapore remains the most extensive and is one of the primary reasons frequent travelers rate the program ahead of competitors.
Cabin crew confirm Book the Cook selections during meal ordering. The pre-selected dish is catered in place of one of the standard entrées, so passengers should expect to receive the meal they reserved.
A change of mind is possible only if unused menu dishes remain after other passengers make their selections, as standard meals are prioritized for those who did not pre-order.

Bottom Line
Book the Cook remains the industry’s most comprehensive airline meal pre-order program, combining menu variety, high availability, and predictable service delivery.
Premium cabin passengers departing from eligible airports gain access to a wider menu than what is served onboard and improve their chances of receiving their preferred main course without relying on limited inflight stock.
