DUBAI- Emirates Airline (EK) will launch free Starlink Wi-Fi on its in-service Boeing 777 fleet in November 2025, with a full rollout across 232 aircraft completed by mid-2027. The service provides free, high speed internet that performs at ground like quality during flight.
This investment positions Emirates among the world’s largest operators of Starlink enabled wide body aircraft, enabling customers to stream, work, shop, game, make calls, and browse social media across all cabins using both personal devices and seatback screens.

Emirates Free Starlink Wi-Fi
Emirates will retrofit Starlink on 232 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft over the next two years. The first aircraft equipped with Starlink, a Boeing 777-300ER registered A6-EPF, is showcased at the Dubai Airshow.
Visitors can experience the high speed connection on the ground before the aircraft reenters commercial service immediately after the event. This flight will mark the first passenger service with Starlink on board.
The installation rate will average fourteen aircraft per month. Boeing 777 aircraft will receive two antennas, while Airbus A380 aircraft will be fitted with three antennas, representing the first use of a triple antenna installation on this aircraft type.
This configuration is designed to maximize connectivity quality, bandwidth capacity, and stability across every cabin class.
Airbus A380 installations will commence in February 2026. Live TV services delivered through Starlink will launch in stages beginning in late December 2025, first on personal electronic devices and later on seatback screens.

Emirates Connected Experience
The new system enables customers to stream video, access live gaming services, make calls, use e-commerce platforms, browse social media, and complete work tasks such as file upload and download.
Connectivity is available simultaneously on seatback entertainment screens and personal devices, ensuring consistent and uninterrupted access throughout the flight.
The Starlink Wi-Fi service will be free for all customers on Starlink-equipped aircraft. Passengers will access the network through a simple one-click process that requires no payment or Skywards membership.

Emirates Fleet Transformation
The Starlink programme operates alongside Emirates’ comprehensive cabin refurbishment initiative, regarded as one of the most extensive in aviation. The retrofit covers nearly 220 aircraft.
So far, seventy 6 refurbished aircraft have re-entered service featuring new Premium Economy cabins, redesigned Business Class layouts, refreshed First Class suites, expanded entertainment technologies, and enhanced interior finishes.
Leadership at Emirates highlights that this connectivity upgrade reflects the airline’s commitment to offering consistent product quality across its fleet.
Sir Tim Clark emphasizes that the airline aims to avoid variation in customer experience and instead deliver the best possible product on every aircraft type.
He identifies Starlink as a defining moment in providing the fastest in-flight Wi-Fi available, and notes that this upgrade is only one part of the broader transformation taking place across the fleet.
SpaceX leadership reinforces this message. Chad Gibbs states that passengers will be able to stream, game, and participate in seamless video calls just as they would on the ground.
He highlights the shared focus on rapid installation and high service quality throughout the deployment.

Enhancing the Onboard Experience
Starlink joins an extensive set of inflight amenities that includes more than 6,500 entertainment channels, the signature A380 Onboard Lounge, and the First Class Shower Spa.
The integration of high-speed access supports a more immersive travel experience and aligns with Emirates’ long-standing service standards.
