DOHA- Qatar Airways (QR) has passed a major connectivity milestone as more than 100 widebody aircraft are now flying with Starlink. The rollout is moving faster than planned, giving passengers earlier access to high-speed onboard internet on routes through Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH).
Over half of the airline’s long-haul fleet now features Starlink, and the carrier has already operated more than 30,000 flights with uninterrupted, high-speed, gate-to-gate connectivity across key global markets.

Qatar Airways Fleet with Starlink
Qatar Airways has become the operator of the largest number of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft. Its installation program continues to progress at a pace rarely seen in the industry.
The Boeing 777 rollout is already complete, and the Airbus A350 program is nearing completion. This maintains the airline’s lead as the only carrier in the MENA region offering Starlink onboard widebody flights.
Starlink access is available across flights touching six continents. The service covers most destinations served by the airline in the Americas and Australia, as well as a large portion of its routes in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Every cabin benefits from free, ultra-fast connectivity that supports streaming, gaming, work tasks, and real-time communication at cruising altitude.
Qatar Airways operates up to 200 daily Starlink-connected flights. Each equipped aircraft delivers speeds that often surpass home Wi-Fi performance. This effort reflects the carrier’s focus on deploying technology ahead of schedule to elevate the passenger experience rather than waiting for long-term targets.

Passenger Experience and Network Coverage
The rollout strengthens the airline’s position as a leader in long-haul passenger experience. Starlink transforms connectivity by enabling consistent, high-bandwidth use for business and leisure travellers across global sectors.
While gate-to-gate service may be restricted at specific airports due to local regulations, availability remains extensive throughout the network.

Airline Accolades and Environmental Initiatives
Qatar Airways continues to earn industry recognition, winning World’s Best Airline for the ninth time at the 2025 Skytrax Awards. Its business class service and lounge experience remain among the highest rated worldwide.
The Doha hub at Hamad International Airport has been named Best Airport in the Middle East for 11 consecutive years and has previously received top global honours.
The airline also upholds strong environmental and compliance standards. It was the first Middle Eastern carrier to reach the highest level of IATA’s Environmental Assessment programme and remains a strong advocate for preventing illegal wildlife trafficking through aviation channels.
The airline’s Starlink program is now one of the fastest execution efforts in global aviation. More than half of Qatar Airways’ widebody aircraft are already upgraded, and the remaining installations continue at a rapid pace. The focus remains on expanding availability to all major long-haul markets without delay.
