QUEENSTOWN- Air New Zealand (NZ) will introduce a new non stop seasonal route linking Queenstown (ZQN) and Brisbane (BNE). The airline plans to expand its trans Tasman reach with added convenience for travellers heading between the South Island and Queensland.
The new service gives passengers a direct option during peak travel months, strengthening connectivity between Air New Zealand and two of the region’s busiest airports, Queenstown (ZQN) and Brisbane (BNE).

Air New Zealand will begin operating the Queenstown to Brisbane route on 22 June 2026, with flights running three times a week until 23 October 2026. The schedule targets travellers looking for mid-year holidays or early spring escapes, supporting seasonal peaks in both regions.
The carrier will use its Airbus A320neo aircraft and offer more than 17000 seats over the season. This gives Queensland-based travellers simple access to the South Island’s adventure and ski hubs, while providing New Zealand customers a direct path to Queensland’s warm weather destinations.
Air New Zealand noted that Queenstown remains popular for Australian visitors throughout the year, and this link is expected to support local tourism across Otago and surrounding areas.
The route also provides a practical option for South Islanders seeking short breaks in Brisbane or connecting onwards through Queensland’s main gateway.
Queenstown Airport confirmed strong demand on both sides of the Tasman and expects the morning departure timing to work well for leisure travellers and those making onward connections.
The route will run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Departures from Queenstown are scheduled at 9:05 AM, while Brisbane departures are set for 11:55 AM. Air New Zealand intends to support consistent flows of visitors in both directions during the winter and spring travel period.
Introductory sale fares are available, with one-way pricing from 275 dollars for travel across the season. All bookings remain subject to regulatory approval.
