DOHA- Qatar Airways (QR) has announced a major expansion of its operations in Saudi Arabia (SA), introducing a new route to Hail (HAS) and increasing frequencies to Jeddah (JED) and Riyadh (RUH). The move further strengthens the airline’s regional presence and commitment to the Saudi market.
Effective January 5, 2026, the World’s Best Airline will serve 13 Saudi cities with more than 150 weekly flights, connecting passengers through Doha (DOH) to over 170 destinations worldwide via Hamad International Airport (DOH).
Qatar Airways Hail Flights
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer announced the expansion during the TOURISE Summit 2025 in Riyadh.
The airline’s new service to Hail (HAS) marks its 13th destination in Saudi Arabia, with three weekly flights operating every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.
The addition of Hail and the frequency increases to Jeddah and Riyadh highlight Qatar Airways’ focus on meeting strong travel demand across business, leisure, and religious segments.
The airline has also resumed flights to Abha and launched services to The Red Sea earlier this year, positioning itself as a key enabler of Saudi Arabia’s growing aviation and tourism landscape.
New Route to Hail
From January 5, 2026, Qatar Airways will operate the following schedule to Hail International Airport (HAS):
- Doha (DOH) to Hail (HAS) – Flight QR1228 departs 14:20, arrives 16:30
- Hail (HAS) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR1229 departs 17:30, arrives 19:25
This new connection provides travellers from Hail seamless access to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, including popular destinations in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
