MONTREAL– Bombardier has officially set a new benchmark in business aviation with the Global 8000, now confirmed to reach a top speed of Mach 0.95. This makes it the fastest business jet ever built, outpacing all civil aircraft currently in operation.
Unveiled during the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas (LAS), the milestone marks a defining moment for Bombardier as it prepares the Global 8000 for entry into service. The aircraft combines record-breaking speed with long-range performance and superior passenger comfort.

World’s Fastest Business Jet New Record Speed
The Bombardier Global 8000 extends its reputation as a technological leader in private aviation.
Previously recognized as the world’s fastest business jet, it now surpasses its own record with a top speed of Mach 0.95 (1,161 km/h). This achievement cements Bombardier’s position at the forefront of aircraft engineering and innovation.
Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier, said the accomplishment reflects the dedication of the company’s engineering and production teams.
Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, highlighted the aircraft’s new capabilities as a leap forward in ultra-long-range travel, calling it “a redefining moment for the industry.”
Performance and Accessibility
Beyond its speed, the Global 8000 delivers performance usually seen in smaller aircraft. Its advanced wing design with leading-edge slats allows it to take off and land on shorter runways, granting access to up to 30% more airports than competing jets in its class.
Despite its size and range, the aircraft offers a remarkably smooth and stable ride under various conditions.
The aircraft’s ultra-long-range capability also allows direct connections between major global city pairs, linking destinations such as Los Angeles (LAX) to Singapore (SIN) or New York (JFK) to Dubai (DXB) without refueling.

Cabin Design and Passenger Experience
Inside, the Global 8000 prioritizes comfort and productivity. The cabin features four distinct living spaces, a dedicated crew rest area, and the longest seated length in its category.
Bombardier has also incorporated the industry’s lowest cabin altitude, reducing passenger fatigue on long flights.
Noise levels and air quality have been optimized to create one of the quietest, healthiest environments in business aviation. The aircraft’s advanced connectivity and entertainment systems allow passengers to work or relax seamlessly during the flight.

The Company Behind the Jet
Bombardier designs, builds, and maintains some of the world’s highest-performing aircraft for private individuals, governments, and businesses.
The company operates over 5,100 aircraft globally, supported by 10 service facilities across six countries. Its manufacturing footprint spans Canada, the United States, and Mexico, where each Global 8000 is assembled with precision and craftsmanship.
In 2024, Bombardier earned the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award for its commitment to brand and design excellence, further underscoring its leadership in innovation and aviation quality.

Launch Customer
Bombardier (BBD) confirmed that Comlux (MLX), a leading private aviation group, will take delivery of the Global 8000 aircraft in 2026. The ultra-long-range business jet will join Comlux’s fleet, which already includes the Bombardier Global 6000 and Global 6500, expanding its global charter capabilities.
The Global 8000 will be based at Comlux’s facilities in Zurich (ZRH) and Indianapolis (IND), strengthening the company’s premium charter and management offerings. Designed for unmatched range, speed, and comfort, the aircraft will elevate Comlux’s ability to connect major international destinations nonstop.
Comlux’s decision to acquire the Bombardier Global 8000 marks a major step in its long-range expansion strategy. Known for operating top-tier business aircraft, the company is integrating Bombardier’s flagship jet to bridge the gap between its Global 6500 and wide-body fleet.
According to Comlux Aviation CEO Andrea Zanetto, the Global 8000 aligns perfectly with the company’s focus on performance and luxury.
The aircraft will allow Comlux to offer ultra-long-range charter services with the same precision and comfort that define its brand.
Zanetto highlighted that the upcoming delivery represents a new chapter in Comlux’s global charter evolution, enabling the management of both Global 7500 and Global 8000 operations for elite clients worldwide.
Bombardier’s President and CEO Éric Martel emphasized that the Global 8000’s speed, range, and cabin refinement make it an ideal choice for Comlux’s discerning passengers.
The model’s smooth ride and state-of-the-art technology ensure a superior travel experience, reinforcing Bombardier’s relationship with one of its most prominent customers.
Comlux’s Role in Global Business Aviation
Headquartered in Zurich, Comlux Group has been a trusted name in business aviation for over two decades. The company provides aircraft management, charter, completions, and sales services across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
