MALDIVES- beOnd Airlines (BD), the world’s first premium leisure airline, is expanding its network with 18 new destinations from Velana International Airport (MLE) in the Maldives, connecting to major cities across Europe, Asia, India, and the Middle East through 2025 and 2026.
This strategic expansion addresses growing demand from luxury travelers seeking elevated journeys to the Maldives, with carefully tailored schedules designed to maximize comfort and convenience while showcasing beOnd’s signature all-business class experience aboard its Airbus A320-family aircraft.
beOnd Airlines New Destinations
beOnd’s ambitious expansion plan targets 18 new routes across four key regions, significantly enhancing connectivity to the Maldives for high-end travelers.
The airline currently operates from Malé (MLE) to Dubai (DXB), Riyadh (RUH), Milan (MXP), Munich (MUC), and Zurich (ZRH), with all services featuring the carrier’s distinctive premium cabin configuration.
The new destinations include five European cities: Paris (CDG), Vienna (VIE), Düsseldorf (DUS), Rome (FCO), and Warsaw (WAW). In Asia, beOnd will launch services to Bangkok (BKK), Seoul (ICN), Beijing (PEK), Shanghai (PVG), and Guangzhou (CAN).
The Indian subcontinent will gain connections from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Bangalore (BLR), and Hyderabad (HYD), while Middle Eastern expansion includes Kuwait (KWI), Bahrain (BAH), Jeddah (JED), and Abu Dhabi (AUH).
“Our vision is to make the Maldives more accessible to premium travelers from around the world while offering an experience that reflects true luxury—personal, thoughtful, and inspiring,” said Tero Taskila, CEO of beOnd. “Global competition for customers seeking luxury leisure travel experiences is strong, and customers have choices. The Maldives is well-suited to capture this demand, and more so with the connectivity beOnd brings to the market.”
Luxury Experience at 30,000 Ft
All flights in beOnd’s expanding network will operate using the airline’s Airbus A320-family aircraft, configured with up to 68 full lie-flat seats.
The cabin design prioritizes space, quiet luxury, and a sense of calm—creating an atmosphere that begins the Maldivian relaxation experience long before arrival.
The airline’s wellness-focused approach extends beyond the seating arrangement to include thoughtfully curated amenities and destination-inspired dining.
Each element of the in-flight service is designed to create a seamless premium experience that complements the luxury resorts awaiting passengers upon arrival in the Maldives.
Comprehensive Premium Journey
beOnd’s service extends well beyond the aircraft cabin. Depending on fare selection, passengers can enjoy private chauffeur transportation to and from airports and premium lounge access prior to departure, ensuring the premium experience begins at home.
The airline emphasizes sustainability alongside luxury, using fine china by English brand William Edwards, silverware from heritage manufacturer Robert Welch, and lead-free crystal glassware—all part of beOnd’s commitment to avoiding single-use plastics while maintaining an elegant service standard.
Strategic Growth
This network expansion follows what the airline describes as a period of strong growth throughout 2024 and 2025, aligning with beOnd’s long-term strategy of redefining premium leisure travel to sought-after destinations.
The Maldives, with its exclusive private island resorts and reputation as a high-end tourist destination, represents an ideal market for beOnd’s business model. By focusing exclusively on premium leisure travelers, the airline creates a specialized travel experience tailored specifically to luxury vacationers.
While some of the planned routes remain subject to government approvals, the ambitious expansion demonstrates beOnd’s confidence in the growing market for premium direct connectivity to the Maldives from major global cities.
