GURUGRAM- Tata-owned Indian FSC Air India (AI) has announced the launch of new international destination with non-stop flights between Delhi (DEL) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Malaysia.
Gurugram-headquartered carrier will deploy Airbus A320neo aircraft to serve the route, which starts on September 15, 2024. Further, the aircraft will have two class configurations to provide a convenient experience to passengers.

The new route will strengthen Air India’s Southeast Asia network, providing more flight options for travelers between India and Malaysia and opening new connections for Malaysian travelers to access Air India’s global routes.

With these new flights between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur, Air India strengthens its vision to make Delhi a global hub. The new route will help passengers to transit further to other international destinations in Canada, Europe, UK and the United States.

As of July 2024, Air India operates direct flights from Indian cities to five destinations in Southeast Asia. This includes Bangkok (BKK), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) Phuket (HKT), Singapore (SIN) and Yangon (RGN).
Apart from this, Air India also plans to deploy its flagship Airbus A350 on Delhi-London Heathrow (LHR) Route from September 1, 2024. It’s a double win for passengers travelling between India and UK. Especially for frequent flyers, they can now have more comfortable travel experience with flagship aircraft.
Air India Group is not just enhancing its international network but working to solidify its regional connectivity. The airline is considering ATR-72 aircraft to challenge IndiGo’s (6E) dominance in the sector.
Celebrating 70 Years of Singapore Flights
Air India Limited and Changi Airport Group celebrated 70 years of Air India operations in Singapore (SIN) with grandeur. Since the first flight landed at Kallang Airport in 1954, Air India has consistently operated, even during the Covid pandemic.
Looking ahead, Air India will increase its services to Singapore from major points in India, providing convenient connections to other destinations.
