KUALA LUMPUR- Tata Group-owned Air India (AI) has established a unique presence in Malaysia, opening a City Office in Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and appointing Oscar Travel Services as its Passenger General Sales Agent (GSA) for the country.
These milestones, celebrated at an opening ceremony on October 30, 2024, mark a significant expansion for Air India’s global sales network, aimed at providing enhanced local support and travel options to passengers and partners in Malaysia, Gaurav Puri, Lead- International Sales & GSA Relations at Air India shared this update.
Air India Kuala Lumpur Office
The event took place in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and was attended by H.E. Mr. B.N. Reddy, the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, along with officials from Malaysia’s Tourism Board.
Air India’s timing for this expansion coincided with the Diwali season, celebrating both the festival of lights and a new chapter for the airline’s services in the region.
The Kuala Lumpur City Office will serve as a comprehensive hub for Air India’s services in Malaysia, offering personalized travel assistance, sales support, and a range of flight options and promotional offers.
By establishing a dedicated presence, Air India aims to make travel planning more accessible for local passengers and to build stronger relationships with trade partners in the region.
New Experience
Oscar Travel Services, a subsidiary of Oscar Holidays Sdn Bhd, has been appointed as Air India’s GSA due to its extensive experience in the travel industry, representing over six airline partners.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to high standards of service, market expertise, and a collaborative approach to meeting the travel needs of Malaysian passengers.
With a focus on delivering memorable travel experiences, Air India’s new City Office provides travelers with a direct channel to explore the airline’s offerings and upcoming promotions. The office invites passengers and trade partners to engage with “The New Air India,” a refreshed vision for global travel.
Daily Flights to Kuala Lumpur
Air India launched new flights between Delhi (DEL) and Kuala Lumpur on September 15, 2024. This marked the sixth Southeast Asian destination for Indian carrier.
The airline serves the DEL-KUL route daily with two-class Airbus A320neo aircraft. Here’s the flight schedule:

As of October 2024, Air India operates direct flights from Indian cities to six destinations in Southeast Asia. This includes Bangkok (BKK), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Phuket (HKT), Singapore (SIN), and Yangon (RGN).
The only Indian full-service carrier serves 49 domestic and 41 destinations in 30 countries with a fleet of 140 aircraft.
