LONDON- The Flag carrier of the United Kingdom (UK), British Airways (BA), has deployed its flagship aircraft, Airbus A350-1000, on the London Heathrow (LHR)- Bengaluru (BLR) route once again.
London-based carrier first announced the deployment of A350-1000 to Bengaluru in Jan 2020. With this development, Bengaluru has become the fourth destination in the airline’s global network and the first city in India to introduce the newest business cabin.
British Airways A350 on London-Bengaluru
According to Flight Radar 24, British Airways operates daily flights BA199 from LHR to BLR with its Boeing 777-200 aircraft. However, on March 30, 2024, the airline utilized A350-1000 aircraft to serve the sector.
The aircraft with a registration G-XWBK was deployed on the route. Further, the pre-filled schedule data showcase that the airline will continue to deploy the A350-1000s on the LHR-BLR route.
As per Planespotters.net fleet data, British Airways has 18 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft and has an average age of just 2.6 years. Further, the airline is close to having a fleet of 300 aircraft.
British Airways A350-1000s are equipped with new Club Suites. The Club Suite, configured in a 1-2-1 arrangement, provides passengers direct aisle access, a privacy door, and generously sized flat-bed seats. It also boasts 40% more storage capacity, including a vanity unit and mirror, high-speed WiFi, 18.5-inch inflight entertainment screens, and PC/USB power outlets.
Dubbed the “Hushliner,” the A350 is renowned for its superior environmental performance compared to its predecessors, being the quietest twin-aisle aircraft. With reduced noise and CO2 emissions, the aircraft offers environmental benefits such as a 40% reduction in noise footprint and a 25% decrease in fuel consumption.
In addition to the new 56-seat Club World cabin, the three-cabin A350 introduces the latest World Traveller Plus (premium economy) cabin, upgraded amenity kits, and enhanced service alongside an elevated dining experience. The World Traveller (economy) cabin accommodates 219 seats.
Flights to India
British Airways operates flights from London Heathrow to various destinations in India. Travelers can select from five cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The airline operates 56 weekly flights to these 5 Indian destinations.
