DELHI- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to inaugurate 16 airport projects, signifying a noteworthy achievement for India’s aviation sector.
Demonstrating a dedication to extensive development and connectivity, PM Modi will virtually inaugurate these airports from Azamgarh on March 10.
PM Modi to Inaugurate 16 Airport
The state of Uttar Pradesh is slated to experience a significant uplift with the inauguration of five new airports, underscoring the government’s resolve to foster regional development.
The roster of inaugurated projects encompasses not only operational airports but also includes foundation stone-laying ceremonies for upcoming ventures.
PM Modi is slated to inaugurate airports featuring new terminal buildings and completely new facilities in various cities, including Pune, Gwalior, Lucknow, Delhi (T1), Kolhapur, Jabalpur, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur. Simultaneously, foundation stones will be laid for forthcoming projects in Hubbali, Kadapa, Varanasi, and Belgavi.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is actively overseeing the progress of these development initiatives.
While the prime minister is expected to attend the inauguration ceremony in person in one of the districts in Uttar Pradesh, the remaining projects will be inaugurated virtually.
Mega Airports Opening Soon
In the coming future, it is expected that two significant projects, namely Noida Airport and Navi Mumbai Airport, will be prepared for public use by the conclusion of 2024. The total investment in these 16 airports surpasses Rs. 12,000 crores.
Notably, among the inaugurated projects, Gwalior holds distinction as it is set to house one of Madhya Pradesh’s most extensive terminals.
Further, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Aviation Minister Scindia will attend in Gwalior, where an investment of approximately Rs. 500 crores has been directed towards the airport.
