LONDON- British Airways (BA) is set to air its latest brand advertisement this week for Diwali. The seasonal theme is a tribute to individuals returning home during the festival season and an expression of gratitude to those who, as part of the British Airways team, are dedicating their time to support customers in reuniting with their families.
Featuring British Airways employees based in India, including Cabin Crew members Akash and Shilpa, Service Advisor Amanda-Rose from the airline’s Gurugram contact center, and Delhi Airport Customer Service Agent Ruchika, the advertisement captures them engaging with voicemail messages from their own family and friends.

British Airways Diwali Brand
Notably, the campaign was filmed in the actual homes of British Airways team members.
From October 20 to November 11, the airline will broadcast 30-second and 15-second versions of the ad in cinemas, outdoor locations, and social media. These advertisements will also be showcased during key TV moments, including the Cricket World Cup.
British Airways Director of Marketing Hamish McVey remarked, ‘Each year, millions of people around the world come together to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, and we understand the significance of reuniting with loved ones during this time. Our personnel are at the core of this campaign, as we wanted to express our appreciation for their role in helping families and friends reconnect during the festival. We wish all our customers and colleagues a Happy Diwali.’
The airline offers special fares to give customers an additional incentive to travel and be with their loved ones.
British Airways operates 56 weekly flights to India, including three daily flights to Mumbai, two services to Delhi, and daily flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

Indian Travelers
To celebrate the launch of the campaign, the employees featured in the advertisement share what they miss most about their homes when they are traveling and reveal their second homes around the world:
- Akash, 40, an International Cabin Crew member at British Airways, was born and raised in New Delhi. He considers London his second home, appreciating its unique vibe, atmosphere, and warmth. While flying, Akash misses his home-cooked vegetarian meals and his wife and parents. However, after 12 years as a British Airways cabin crew member, the UK has become his home away from home.
- Ruchika, 42, is a Customer Service Agent at Indira Gandhi International Airport. She has been serving British Airways customers since 2005. She relies on her smartphone during her travels to combat homesickness and stay connected. She uses Facetime to connect with her family and pets while away. She would love to celebrate this Diwali in Japan, as she admires the unique festivals, celebrations, cultures, and customs of both India and Japan.
- Shilpa, 36, joined British Airways as a Cabin Crew member last summer. She calls Gurugram home and has 17 years of experience in this field. Shilpa carries pictures of her daughter and husband with her wherever she goes in the world. While video calling is essential to stay connected, these photos serve as a reminder of her love for them. She adores her job but believes nothing is more blissful than reuniting with her family and bed. Shilpa has a deep affinity for the Maldives, a place she envisions as her second home due to its breathtaking blend of simplicity and beauty.
- Amanda, 25, originally from Jhansi, considers Gurugram her hometown. She has worked at British Airways’ customer engagement center for the past two years. She always carries a watch her Dad gifted her on her birthday when she travels to remind her of home. She misses hot, home-cooked food most when she’s away. Her Mom is an excellent cook and prepares her favorite festive dishes for her return so she doesn’t feel left out.
