MUMBAI- Dubai-based Emirates (EK) marked the upcoming launch of its Premium Economy service in India with an exclusive tour of its four-class A380 aircraft in Mumbai today (October 19, 2023).
When this new cabin class becomes available on its A380 flights later this month, Emirates will become the first Middle Eastern airline operating in Mumbai to offer this luxurious travel experience.

Emirates Premium Economy in Mumbai
The A380 aircraft, featuring Premium Economy cabins and operating as EK506, made its arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (MIAL).
This special occasion allowed MIAL airport officials, VIPs, travel agents, key corporate customers, and members of the media to get a firsthand look at this soon-to-be-launched service.
Guests were guided through the Premium Economy cabins that will debut on Emirates’ A380 flights to Mumbai and Bangalore starting from October 29 and on outbound flights from these two cities to Dubai starting from October 30.
Notable figures present at this premiere event included Prakash Tulsiani, Chief Executive Officer of Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), Ashwin Noronha, Chief Operating Officer of Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), Dinaz Madhukar, Chief Commercial Service Officer at Adani Airports, along with other local dignitaries representing the airport authorities.
Also in attendance was Mohammed Sarhan, Emirates’ Vice President for India and Nepal.
The Emirates executive team aboard the flight that arrived in Mumbai included Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer, and Ahmed Khoory, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean.

EK Premium Offerings
Emirates’ A380 aircraft with Premium Economy cabins feature 56 comfortable cream leather seats situated at the front of the main deck, arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration.
This new cabin class offers seats with ample recline, increased legroom, an elevated dining experience, and several thoughtful and luxurious amenities.
Passengers looking for a premium dining experience can explore a diverse range of regional menus, showcasing local flavors and an extensive beverage selection tailored for Premium Economy customers.
In addition, the inflight entertainment system “Ice,” which offers over 6,500 channels, has been significantly improved, now featuring a larger screen and an extensive collection of movies, TV shows, and albums in several regional Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, and Kannada.
Emirates has undertaken one of the most extensive fleet retrofitting projects in the history of aviation. The airline’s Engineering team has initiated a groundbreaking project to refurbish 67 Airbus A380s and 53 Boeing 777 aircraft.
In addition to providing a refreshed appearance, this project involves installing nearly 4,000 Premium Economy seats across 120 aircraft.
For Indian travelers flying between Dubai and Mumbai, Emirates’ Premium Economy seats can be reserved on flights EK500/501. For those traveling between Dubai and Bengaluru, seats are available on flights EK568/569.
Reservations can be made immediately through emirates.com, Emirates sales offices, and travel agencies for outbound travel from the two Indian cities starting from October 30.
