UNITED STATES- According to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, a small aircraft crashed in a secluded area of Utah, specifically in Moab, claiming the lives of four individuals. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night shortly after the plane’s departure from Canyonlands Regional Airport(CNY).
The Sheriff’s Office conveyed the heartbreaking news on its Facebook page, stating, ‘Regrettably, Senator Doug Larsen of North Dakota and his spouse and their two children tragically lost their lives in the plane crash.
Single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officially verified in a statement that the single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed at approximately 8:20 p.m. local time on Sunday.
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum expressed his profound sorrow in a statement on Monday afternoon, mourning the tragic passing of Senator Doug Larsen, along with his wife Amy and their two young sons.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will initiate a thorough investigation into the crash, with the NTSB assuming primary responsibility for the inquiry.
