AUSTRALIA- Unlock the hidden treasures of the Australian outback as Bonza Airlines (AB) announces its latest offering: a new route from the Gold Coast to Mount Isa, now available for booking starting today with fares as low as $119 per person (one way).
Commencing on December 5th, this new route will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. Mount Isa will mark the 19th destination on Bonza’s expanding route map, reaffirming the airline’s steadfast dedication to regional Queensland.
Bonza Announces New Direct Route
Bonza’s CEO, Tim Jordan, personally explored Mount Isa today and expressed enthusiasm for the new route. He emphasized its potential to broaden travel options and stimulate domestic tourism in both regions.
This expansion will help easier connections for FIFO workers based in Mount Isa to reunite with their loved ones or enjoy a well-deserved break.
“Accessible air travel has now reached Mount Isa, and we are thrilled to introduce this fresh service connecting the Gold Coast to Mount Isa. At Bonza, our mission is to enhance Australians’ access to their own backyard, and this recently established route will not only attract more tourists to Mount Isa. Which also provides the residents of Mount Isa with an affordable means to explore the Gold Coast without breaking the bank.”

Bonza Connecting Communities Across Australia
Jordan expressed his gratitude for QAL’s invaluable support in enabling Bonza to connect communities all across Australia while ensuring affordable airfares for the many, not just a select few.
Further, Jordan highlighted the significant economic benefits that Bonza’s Gold Coast base would bring to the region, including the creation of over 100 direct jobs.
Subsequently, the recruitment process for pilots and cabin crew is already underway, offering them the opportunity to proudly wear Bonza’s distinctive ‘wear it your way’ uniform. Further, call the Gold Coast their home – a true embodiment of the Bonza spirit.
Amelia Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Airports Limited, emphasized the importance of this new service in enhancing connectivity throughout regional Queensland, marking a positive step forward.
“The commencement of this direct service between the Gold Coast and Mount Isa is a testament to the ongoing efforts of our team and Bonza’s commitment to improving regional connectivity,” said Ms Evans.
“Bonza’s new connection offers a convenient and affordable option for travellers and contributes to a broader reduction in the cost of regional airfares.
“This announcement is not only a significant milestone for our group of airports, but also an important connection for the Mount Isa community and our State.”
