DUBAI- Following the successful launch of the Emirates (EK) inflight meal preordering service on UK routes and the positive feedback from passengers, the airline is expanding this service to include routes to and from various European cities.
This includes Warsaw, Venice, Rome, Bologna, Prague, Vienna, Moscow, Istanbul, Dublin, Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Brussels, and Madrid, as well as to and from Seychelles and Mauritius. This initiative will continue to roll out on additional global routes in the upcoming months.
Emirates Meal Preordering Across Europe
This service allows Business Class passengers to preselect their main course from a range of options between 14 days and 24 hours before their flight departure. This ensures that passengers receive their preferred meal choice and contributes to reducing food wastage.
Emirates passengers can enjoy a premium dining experience in-flight by browsing the onboard menu on Emirates.com or the Emirates app and selecting from a variety of regionally inspired dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
Business Class meal options include delectable dishes like chocolate hazelnut pancakes with apricot compote and ricotta sour cream for breakfast, beef tenderloin with thyme jus, roasted potato wedges, and steamed vegetables for lunch, and pan-fried salmon trout with saffron cream, blanched green beans, braised beetroot, and polenta with spring onions for dinner.
AI-Powered App
While onboard the aircraft, Emirates’ cabin crew will utilize digital devices to access the preordered meal selections and efficiently serve passengers their chosen dishes.
Meal preordering is an enhancement to Emirates’ existing set of AI-powered tools that track customer preferences and incorporate feedback from cabin crew reports. These tools aid in menu planning, optimizing food loading, and minimizing food wastage during flights.
Emirates places a strong emphasis on digitally enabled journeys and innovation.
The meal preordering service is part of a broader range of digital services offered, including website and app check-in, the availability of digital boarding passes and itinerary management, access to digital inflight menus, easy enrollment in the Skywards loyalty program for immediate access to free Wi-Fi messaging onboard, and the ability to curate ice inflight entertainment playlists in advance of a flight.
