LONDON- The flag carrier of the UK, British Airways (BA), has updated its aircraft assignments for the London Heathrow (LHR) to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) route for the upcoming Northern Summer 2024 season, effective from March 31, 2024.
The UK-based carrier operates half a dozen flights between London and Chicago.

British Airways London-Chicago Aircraft Change
The planned aircraft changes are as follows:
- BA295/294: The Boeing 777-200ER aircraft will replace the 777-300ER.
- BA297/296: The 787-10 aircraft will replace the 777-200ER, except for the period between April 20, 2024, and May 10, 2024.
The flight schedule is as follows:
From London Heathrow (LHR) to Chicago O’Hare (ORD):
- BA295: Departure at 11:05, Arrival at 13:45, operated by a 777.
- BA297: Departure at 15:35, Arrival at 18:15, operated by a 787.
From Chicago O’Hare (ORD) to London Heathrow (LHR):
- BA294: Departure at 16:45, Arrival at 06:35 (next day), operated by a 777.
- BA296: Departure at 21:15, Arrival at 11:05 (next day), operated by a 787.

Leasing Widebody Planes

Earlier in August 2023, International Airlines Group (IAG) Group, British Airways (BA) parent company, stated that they finalized the deal for six new Boeing 787-10.
Furthermore, in the first half of 2023, the company reports confirmed that they converted the optional 10 Airbus A320neo orders into firm ones.
